i figured I'd post on the budget board since I'm trying to save money! We are going to dis on ice tomorrow for the first time! I've been to the world multiple times but never to the ice show and have a few questions. Do little girls wear princess dresses? We also have light up toys from the electrical parade can we take those in with us? I really do not want to buy more! Also can you take in little snacks for kids or will they take them? Any other info I might need? Any help would be appreciated and if there's another board you think I should post this in please let me know,TIA☺️

We went to Disney On Ice last fall. Some of the little girls wore princess costumes, but nowhere near all or most. One thing I noticed to warn about...please make sure your DD can easily walk safely up/down steep steps (stadium seating) and escalators without the dress dragging. Way too many kids were tripping on their dresses. (and the escalator is just scary seeing a couple little girls in Frozen costumes with long dress/cape trailing behind ). They sell light-up toys but unless your particular venue has rules against bringing your own it shouldn't be a problem. In fact, they were hawking them up and down the street outside as we approached, so it clearly wasn't an issue to bring stuff in. I'd say same goes for food/snacks -- it might be a venue rule; we did have bag check and security to go through on entering.

Enjoy the show!

Make sure you leave home earlier than you think you need to. I thought I gave myself extra time, but traffic was terrible getting there and in the parking lot. We ended up missing the beginning.

Make sure you have some warm clothes to cover up. They keep the place pretty cool.

We bought snacks....as to my niece, that was part of the fun of the evening.

Thanks for your replies, were in Ohio so it's frigid here's so I would make her wear clothes underneath and ugg like boots. Good idea about checking the length of the dress I will do that. I was shooting for getting there an hour early so hopefully that will be good.

Yes bring your light ups, and yes bring drinks and snacks. In this day of allergic kids, I've never had a problem bringing my own little baggies of healthy snacks into places.

Our venue won't allow outside food and drinks - they even do a quick bag search and will make people throw things they find out before they can go in. You can sometime argue a food allergy, but it's tough.

We just went to Disney on Ice last weekend! It was great but the souveniers were crazy expensive. The Elsa light up wand was $30! The cotton candy was $14. It came with an Olaf mask, but still. DD has diabetes so I had packed her a snack, thank goodness. They don't do bag checks at the venue we went to, so we didn't have a problem. DD wore a princess dress and we saw a ton of other girls with princess dresses on too. I would say it's fine to bring your own glow sticks in. Have a great time!!!

Many of the kids here in PA wear costumes. My daughter always does. They don't allow outside food and beverages here either. They do check bags. As for the light up toys, I wouldn't think that would be a problem to bring in your own.

As for souvenirs, they are cheaper at DISNEY.

We go once a year. I always see little girls in princess dresses. So it's normal! The souvenirs are way over-priced, which is expected from Disney. I'm out here in Oakland, CA and the shows are produced by Feld Entertainment (sp?). The mechandise seems "cheap". Not up to par like Disney parks or Disney store items.
