We are going to see 100 Years Disney on Ice on Thursday night. I am taking all 4 kids. What are they going to see many of the kids with as far as souvenirs and what am I looking at cost wise?

I normally think of light-up toys at these kind of things but I see a lot of drink flip-top character mugs being resold on ebay so is that the "big" thing for the Disney on Ice shows?

Just need to get a feel for what I am looking at spending on parking, food, drinks and souvenirs for a family of 6. Tickets were a deal from living social and that is the only reason I was able to budget this show in for us.

Last time I went which was a couple years ago, the flip top held slushies and cost $12. There are lots of light up things (you might be able to get something in advance at the Disney store for less). FYI, popcorn and cotton candy also cost $12 each so I would definitely plan carefully. Have fun!

Just went in DC a few weeks ago. Cotton candy was $12 and came with a crown, popcorn was 7-12, souvenir cups with icees were $10. The other things were way overpriced. Dolls $30, swords $15.

Way overpriced, just as you would expect. We went last year and we told him in advance we would buy one agreed upon souvenir and not food or drinks. We ate before leaving home...(1hr away) and planned to eat afterward. We got a light up toy for like 22, but it has been a good toy. It was the "boy" choice and has really held up and the batteries lasted for ever. We did up needing a drink and four small drinks were like 16.00 but that was the arena cost, not Disney.

Splurged on seats in the 4th row when we went and told dd in advance 1 souvenir, but no snacks. We also ate before and after. But that has been our general rule for shows because souvenirs tend to be expensive at all of them. We have been to see the Backyardigans, Sesame Street Live (2 times) and the Fresh Beat Band and it was the same deal only tickets were cheaper for the other events. Fresh Beat Band puts on a great show BTW. Parents and all were singing going back to the parking lot after. Actually wouldn't mind seeing them again.

We bought the light up toys and while overpriced I was impressed that they came with a two year warranty. They gave us a card with all the info on it and everything.

We went here in NC in Dec. The kids all got slushies in the flip top cups. One was $10 and the other 3 were $12. We also paid $2 each for little Mickey hand spoons (think they had Stitch ones too.) The dolls were $30. I went online on the phone and ordered to for that price from Disney store while my girls watched. Light up toys were $20-$22 each.

They mean that warranty too. We got a light up crown that had problems. I called the number on that card and they immediately sent us out a replacement.

It's your usual souvenir stuff. Light up spinners, drink lids, swords, crowns, stuffed animals, t-shirts etc. All overpriced, and all things your child will probably beg for. Plan on spending about $35-50 per child for food/drink and souvenirs( all depending on what you opt for of course).

When we went this past fall we got a popcorn to share, each got a drink, DS got a buzz light spinner (which is STILL working BTW), DD got a Cinderella horse figurine (plastic, but pretty). Including tickets we spent about $300 for 4 of us. Great show though!

We just went last weekend to Passport to Adventure...the character drink cups were $12-$15 depending on what cup and were filled with either a snowcone type drink or lemonade.

We got our DD (2) a Tinkerbell tshirt that was $20 bc most of the toys weren't necessarily geared toward her age. They had lots of light up spinners, a couple of ear hats, a Minnie baseball toddler type hat, stuffed toys (really overpriced), some shirts, necklaces, dolls...etc.

The popcorn came with Mickey Ears or a Flower type hat (think Tink), I believe it was maybe the same options on the cotton candy, both were $12 each.

Thanks to all of you!

I am putting my foot down and saying "no" to the flip top cups. I will buy 2 drinks for them to share and some popcorn. I will ask the kids to bring their money from their piggy banks for souvenirs I think. If they want a light up toy or the cotton candy with the crown they need to buy it themselves. I could do it if I had 1 or 2 kids but with four kids that are all young (7, 7, 5 and 4) I am kinda screwed when it comes to stuff like this LOL! They each have a nice chunk of money they could spend. I will leave it up to them with a limit of around $30. I just can't see spending more than that per kid.

Thanks again to everyone! tonight is the night!

Are you in or around Pittsburgh? We are going on Saturday. I can see where it would really add up with 4 kids. I only have one, who is three, and I've already had the talk with her about how she can pick one thing. Have fun.

Yes we are in Moon Township. The show was fantastic! We all really enjoyed the first half the best because we knew the characters well. We did like the Lion King at the end too.

We ended up with:
1) Jasmine plush doll $30
2) Princess Light chaser $22
3) Light up sword from an outside vendor $12
4) Light up butterfly wand from an outside vendor $12

Some popcorn, water and lemonade that grandma bought for us:cool1:

I actually thought the light ups that the people were selling outside were pretty cool. My son's sword has a crystal on one end and it make a really neat design on the wall or ceiling. If you end up wanting an outside item buy it before you go in because Consol doesn't allow you to exit and re-enter during the show.

We went on Wednesday! Great show. We bought light up toys previously, so we saved there. My daughter needed the snow cone. Lol. She was content the whole show so for us it was $12 well spent.

We live in North Huntingdon so not too far away from you. My daughter got the snow cone last year. She still plays with the cup. She says she wants that again, but we will see. She opted for a ridiculous overpriced horse toy at the circus a few months ago rather than the snow cone. Good to know about the outside vendors.

I think the slush in the cups as $12 when we went in December. For a souvenir or light up thing, they are between $20-30 from what I remember.

I think the food, at least here, is sold by the venue and is the same as a sporting event or concert. $6-10 for a food item, drinks $3-5 here. It's not an inexpensive day. I hope you have a fun time. My DD and I go as a special Christmas present every year.

I took my daughter for her 4th birthday this past March to Disney on Ice Rockin' Ever After. She got the Mickey Light Chaser, red & yellow ($22), eel binoculars ($18), Ariel flip top cup with snow cone inside she ended up not liking until we got to the bottom and it was mainly juice, go figure Ha! :-) ($12), cotton candy that came with a VERY flimsy frog hat ($12) - wish it could have been a cute hat like someone else described on here, and for Mama, I bought myself a coke pre-show out of the vending machine for $2. I did ask to buy the special Mickey hands spoon and was told by vendor that no, the regular spoons on the end were used for the sno-cones in flip cup so I was disappointed to read on here that they were available for purchase as a friendlier vendor at another stand probably would have sold them to me. Oh well! I had spent enough!! Even though another $2 wouldn't have killed me for some cute straw spoons. So in all I paid $66 for souvenirs and drinks. We went out to eat after the show. I paid a pretty penny for our tickets as I had somewhat front row seats. Long story of how Ticketmaster messed me over on those!! But the short story is, they apparently had an employee who doesn't know how to read the computer screen, as I had presale code and only 2 seats sold in section 1, row A of the show I was going to attend. I picked my seats, she did NOT enter the seats according to what I picked, get my tickets in the mail, they refunded me some money after listening to the tape recording of my call of me asking several times was she sure they were the right seats. Get to the show and the venue set up the seating different than what the map had on the computer for Ticketmaster!!! So technically there wasn't anyone in front of us, but we were not even with the first row. Anyways, we had an okay time, even though we were watching from an angle where we were being blinded by spot lights pretty often since our seats had been moved back. I had attended Disney on Ice with her sister that is 10 years older than her and sat in almost the exact same spot with her. I knew not to sit there again and wouldn't you know it, I ended up there again!!

But that is not what I need!! Haha!! Her Mickey light up spinner has been acting like it didn't have a good battery in it since we got it. Now when she uses it it sounds as if it is really dragging and at times the lights will go out, but it will still be spinning. So I am assuming it needs new batteries. I looked at the spinner and assumed I was to remove the one screw above the battery compartment but can't figure out how to get the battery compartment open!! :-( I even unscrewed the 2 bottom screws at the bottom of the spinner, which then allowed me to open the bottom half of the spinner, but still can't figure out how to get this battery compartment open!! I have misplaced the card and whatever other papers they may have given me at Disney on Ice for the moment so I went to the internet to find an owners manual to no avail!! I FINALLY found this thread!! Can you please help me by telling me how to replace the batteries? Or you can even email me the instructions if you have them!! LOL I will even take the companies website, email address or phone # off the card if you dont know how. I am DESPERATE as she LOVES her spinner!!! I know it will take me FOREVER to find that card, just because I need it!! You know go that goes!! I appreciate any help you can give me!! Thanks!!....oh, and please forgive any typos in this as I did this on my cell and I am afraid if I go back up to proofread, I might loose what I lost in the box (has happened way too many times with these kinds of boxes I guess u can tell ;-)!!!) And as you can see, I am a NEWBIE!!! I scroll down to find the post button, and see that I don't have to type smiley faces, but they have icons you can insert!! (Laughs at self here)
