Disney OCD--aka MissCammie is Disney Planning!

You nut! I ordered them after I read your post, like immediately! Remember, I am not patient.

You crack me up!:lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

WOW! you aren't kidding about being impatient! I didn't know anybody would react that quickly! I thought it HAD to be a cosmic coincidence!:lmao:

You must promise though, if you don't like them, please don't send Scrappy the bloodthirsty dachshund on a hunt for me!

Sally has a pair from TNF...she LIVES in them. They must be comfy b/c Sally would NOT wear something that caused her the tiniest bit of discomfort!

uh oh...there was just a GIANT crack of thunder over here...which means I'm stuck...b/c I do NOT drive in biblical proportion downpours. Maybe it's just fixin to get loud and then pass on...

speaking of...how has the weather been down in Florida? More sun than wet? I guess it's always a combination down there... I am determined to see all of Animal Kingdom this trip...last year it poured so hard we barely got through the first half mile!

seeing as how the kids have such snazzy tees to wear to Animal Kingdom...we need to maximize the exposure!!!!:cool1: guess it's good we are staying at AKL!!!

I was thinking, what if I don't like them? I guess I can send them to Sally and she can wear them in a few months, the way she is growing! Anyway, they can keep the other flip flops in my closet company if they don't work out.

It has been very hot and muggy here. But last week it rained every day here on the Tampa side. I would expect in Orlando humid hotness during the morning and afternoon thundershowers.

Speaking of which, stay safe!

I am so excited... I just got the Minnie dot YellowBox shoes for my 6 year old DD! They have them in little people sizes and they are adorable! I also got her the leopard ones. Who can buy just one pair of flips?!? Thanks for the tip!

I live on the other side of the state (from Tampa) and it has been really hot. And rainy in the afternoons. Typical summer.:)
Actually last weekend we were at Downtown Disney during the afternoon and it was rather pleasent. There was a nice little breeze.

So there is hope that it won't be a sauna the whole time you are here!

Where did you order from if you don't mind my nosiness...can you send them back if they don't work out? I do hope you like them. I have walked around in Sally's a couple of times and they are very comfy and well made.

I have a pair of North Face Basecamp flips that aren't narrow like the pair Sally has...they have an "eggcrate" footbed. It's not super squishy but it's nice. They are pretty sturdy too and have good arch support!

Privos are good too!!! A lot on sale right now!!!

Oh I'm so glad you found some!!! I really love mine!! I love the red fabric b/c it's a deep red that looks so good with the white dots...it's not orangey at all! They are REALLY cute aren't they?:goodvibes

We've never had a major problem with the weather while at Disney...even during our honeymoon, when Hurricane Ernesto hit, we weren't bothered. It was the best day we had at the parks!! I always worry that it will storm more than sun and we'll miss out on a lot due to sogginess!

Perhaps I'll use the SECRET and influence the weather...it will be nice and sunny and rain free...

is it working?

gosh I hope so!

:beach:

Oh I got them at zappos, so free shipping both ways, so no worries. I have got and sent back many shoes from there!

I can't wait till they get here!

Those minnie dot flip flops are the cutest. I never let the kids wear shoes without backs walking around though. I wish they made them with a strap in the back for kids. They are cute though!

So I was "grazing" ;) in a kids shoe boutique-y type store, actually looking for the TT Argo sneaker/sandals by Stride Rite. I have them for DD2 but NEED them :flower3: for DD4. They HAVE to match, after all. And what do I happen across...Keens Newport H2's. :upsidedow

Let me just tell ya'll...it is all Miss Cammie's fault that I am $100 poorer right now...and that was on 2 pairs for DD2. I special ordered a pair for DD4...

AND...Now I'm looking for DH & me on the internet...:surfweb:

Grazing my you-know-what, little pootsnorkel! :headache:

see...this is proof that we have ESP...b/c I was thinking...with impatience levels as such heights, Steph should use Zappos! You get your shoes the next day!:lmao:

I love Zappos...sometimes you can get great deals...other times they jack up the prices outrageously to pay for the "free" overnight shipping! You must look often to get the deals!!!

I do NOT let Teddy wear flip flops. EVER. Every time he wears flips when he's not here, he falls. Every single time. And he doesn't just fall down. Nope, he face plants...knocks his teeth back, bleeds from several different locations, toes split open. I'm not sure how many times we need to go through that before it is evident that the child needs sturdy shoes that are strapped to his feet. He trips anyway, but at least it's not his shoes fault and his feet don't get torn up!

Sally is like a cat. She always lands on her feet. I'm amazed sometimes at the control she has over herself...considering Teddy's complete lack of control!:lmao: She's got issues with binding shoes. She just hate hate hates sneakers. She is Uggs in the winter and flips and crocs in the summer. Needless to say, Sally is not a fan of a P.E. day at school!

it's addictive isn't it?!

Aren't Stride Rites shoes the BEST?! I love that store. They are so great about checking for the right fit. I love how they are so intent on the kids as they try on shoes. It's serious stuff! Stride Rite is all the kiddos wore up until about age 7...then Sally received a pair of crocs from her step mama for Christmas...changed the shoe landscape for EVER in our house!

Teddy still wears Stride Rites as "school shoes".

Don't think of it as being $100 poorer...think of it as an investment in the proper alignment and growth of your children's spine!

:thumbsup2

;)

Okay y'all...here we are at 13 days to go! Jay, FOR ONCE, does not work on Saturday...this NEVER EVER happens...so we are taking advantage of it!

(It so stinks that Olympics games have arrived...b/c I fear I will be distracted by the gymnastics and swimming and diving competitions...and did anyone else know that TRAMPOLINING was an Olympic sport?! I had NO IDEA...I thought trampolines were the things the gymnasts and divers practiced on...turns out that Trampolining is a HARDCORE sport...y'all should youtube it! I was amazed!! I'm just not sure that the United States gives it much air time...even though we have a US trampoline team!!:confused3 I'm on a mission to find it!!)

wait...see how I just got SO distracted?!

where was I?

Oh YES...Saturday...OH and before I forget...can everyone just say a prayer that Sally and TEddy will remain safe, unbroken and healthy this week so that we can leave for our trip without a deficit in injury and/or illness? THANKS!!:goodvibes

okay, yes...Saturday...I have an eye doctor's appointment and then we are shopping in earnest...with a LIST...for all the things we need...we need to get it done mostly THIS weekend b/c we have a crazy busy work week and next weekend is booked.

SO...here we go.

I'll have all sorts of fun details of the shopping frenzy planned around the opening ceremonies of the Olympics!!!:cool1:

:goodvibes

What style did you get? I have a pair of Keens Bali that are VERY comfortable but I don't like the way my feet look in them...:confused3 but I've got issues.

Thanks so much for posting that! I wasn't a fan of the look of the Bali, and of course they were much less expensive than what I ended up purchasing.

Why, oh why, do I have expensive taste in shoes?:lmao:

I ended up ordering the Calistoga Sandals. They're very, very cute, and I was totally jazzed that they came in half sizes. I like the look of them, and hope they work out. And if they do, I'll totally post a review for you!:goodvibes

I ordered them from Zappos so hopefully I'll have them early next week.:thumbsup2

Miss Cammie:
I have to throw my two cents in "Keen's Rule...":worship:

I just love them, almost everyone in our family has a pair except, DH, he has Teva's. I have Keen Newports in Clay and Lime Green, DD has the Newports in Navy, and DS17 has an orange pair of Keen Maupin, he thinks they are cool for young hip guys...:lmao:

Now I do know that DD14 and DS17 will NOT wear them to school, they aren't that cool, :rotfl:

but they plan on wearing the everyday in DisneyWorld..

Thanks for weighing in! It's great to hear.:goodvibes

Wow, how exciting! I can't believe your trip is so close!

I just know you're going to have a wonderful time with your sweet family.:goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing about this week's shopping trip.

I loved Stride Rite (I had messed up feet) until they kicked me out because my foot was too big. :rotfl: :rotfl:

just a little drive by posting...(The Opening Ceremonies are on!!!)

I just got another pair of the lands end quick dry shorts for Sally and Teddy for $8 a piece!!!:cool1: RUN to your local Sears if you've been on the fence about them. Now is the time to buy! Most of the shorts are lime green in the girl section...which I got for Sally. All the Land's End stuff for the summer is 50% off already reduced prices!! I also got Sally a darling skirt and tank set for $16! VERY cute...

and just b/c I know she'll love it, I got Sally an "I Love Troy" locket and a rubber bracelet declaring the same love from Claire's! On clearance!!! :cool1:

this is the BEST time to bargain shop!! LOVES IT!!!

k...back to the opening ceremony!! (It's been pretty awe inspiring so far! They aren't messing!)

:moped:

OH...and in honor of the Olympics I bought the book "Chalked Up" by Jennifer Sey. She writes about being an elite gymnast and the darker side of the sport...very expose!!! :)

ESP! :lmao:

Neither one of my kids is particularly graceful but Jacob is the worst. They can wear flip flops to the beach and that is about it! Jacob is forever walking out of his so they got banned from everyday wear. I told him to let me know when he could stay in them and then he could wear them.

Poor Sally: we have PE every day here. She would just be miserable!

I actually remember watching trampolining, it must have been the last olympics. It is hardcore!

Good find! I will have to check Sears out. I ordered some shoes from Land's End (why yes, they were sandals) that I need to take back there. No, I did not know they had the exact same sandals there that I could have tried on for free and found out they didn't fit.

I will have to check out the shorts. Can't have too many of them!

The kids are watching the opening ceremony with their mouths gaping in awe but I find them boring. :scared: I am trying to decide whether to sew or to scrapbook. Have a great night!

I'm highjacking for a moment..sorry..Can you let me know if these flops help with the cramping feet problem? I have that sooo bad! I had to stop at Target for 20 mins last week because I just absolutley could NOT take another step. I was in tears!

Also, MissCammie the trampoline was introduced at the last summer Olympics as a sport. USA did braodcast the finals as i remember seeing it on tv. It was sooo cool. You have 10 "jumps" to do as many tricks as you can before your turn is over.
GO USA!:goodvibes

I love watching the Olympics too! I have the opening ceremonies on as well though I like the actual games themselves better than the opening and closing ceremonies. I should be working on finishing my Disney scrapbooks from our last trip but instead I have one eye on the tv and the other on the disboards. Good thoughts being sent for no injuries and good weather for you!

I can totally relate! I will let you know if these help.

I did buy some Adidas flip flops that I haven't cramped up in but they look like they belong on a swimmer's feet by the pool. Not really for everyday wear. They do have good arch support though.

I'll give a full report on The North Face ones! :thumbsup2

I don't think MissCammie will mind if we highjack to discuss shoes (or Coach purses), right?

Yes...Land's End is at Sears...which is VERY helpful...my mother-in-law LIVES in lands' end stuff, and it makes it easier for her to return what we get her for Christmas that she never likes but it's the thought that counts...

*ahem*

which did you pick?! sewing or scrapbooking? You are fab at both...what a choice!!!

do you have high arches? That must be AWFUL!!!

Where the heck was I with that?! I have no memory of Trampolining...of course I think I've blocked out most of 2004...aka The Year of Incredibly Stupid Choices!

*ahem*

;)

yeah...the lack of alphabetical order is kind of freaking me out with the Parade of Nations...the show earlier was pretty cool...

Bring on the Gymnastics!!!

And the Swimming!!

And Diving!!!

and the other fun stuff!:cheer2:

THANK YOU for the good thoughts!!! Every little thought counts!!:goodvibes

I'm so glad we have MissCammie's PTR!!! It makes me happy that there's another person who is slightly OCD. My husband thinks he's helping pack for our trip next month - it's kinda cute. :rotfl2: Heck, if I knew it would fly I'd probably pack for my brother in law who's going as well.

I do have a quick question - if I can hijack the board for a sec - with the extra magic hours, do people staying at a Disney resort have to get the wristbands? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Back to shoe shopping....All of this talk about sandals and flips has made me determine that I need a new pair.
