I have seen 2 threads about Disney Dining asking for a credit card when people are making their ADR's.

Also their restaurant pages are mentioning cancellation policies. The CM's apparently stating you have to cancel before 48 hours of your ADR or you will be billed $10 per person for not cancelling in a timely manner or if you are a no show.

All I can say about this is, it's about time. Now maybe we won't have to plan where we want to eat 6 months out.

I think it will help but I still think there will need to be planning at 6 months out for popular places. If it was a deposit, I agree with would cut down significantly on the number of ADR's made at 6 months that won't be used. However, all people need to do is decide a few days before their vacation what they don't want and they can cancel then.

I imagine they'll still allow for at least one no-show. If you schedule an entire vacation and miss over half...

I'm sure it's no fun on their part guessing at what percentage might show and then possibly inconveniencing those who have to wait (not to mention those who are unable to make a ressie at a desired time).

I just booked Crystal Palace, Garden Grove, and Whisering Canyon....wasn't asked for a credit card for any of them so far.

Interesting, we booked ADRS at Ohana and Boma and weren't asked for credit card info. Maybe they're only asking for certain restaurants. We also aren't on the DDP, wonder if that makes a difference? :confused3

I have only been asked when booking at the following

Storybook Princess in Norway
Cinderella's castle
California Grill

but I wish they did it at more places so people would not double book and not cancel. It would be nice to be able to find something if you book a last minute trip

Out of all the places I've booked for our upcoming trip (and I've booked and canceled and booked a *lot* of places), they only asked for a CC# for CA Grill. We've got every signature but Citrico's, and we're not going any dinner shows or CRT.

ETA: Oops. We're not going to HBD or Bistro, either. Forgot those.

I did one this AM and nobody asked for a c card number but I did give it last week for Cinderellas maybe they keep it on file?

Out of all my ADR's I made the past week, they asked for this once. And it was for the Fantasmic dinner package. (I am doing free dining.)

I just changed all my August ressies last night and they did not ask me for a credit card. I am booked my Oct ressies a week from today, will let you know if they ask for one.

Disney is NOT taking credit cards for any restaurants other than those they already take for. The only ones where credit cards are required are: Cinderella's, Princess Storybook, California Grill, all Fantasmic Dinner Packages & all the dinner shows.

They have always asked for a CC for certain restaurants:

Cinderellas Table
Hoop De Doo
Luau
Backyard BBQ
(and Fantasmic package)

Thanks very much for clarification!:thumbsup2

They want a CC to hold a ressie for V&A, too. I just booked last week and there's a $25 fee for not canceling before a certain time.

I also booked Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (the upstairs fine dining), and they didn't ask for a CC on that one.

I was told you could not double book for any night of your stay. The reason I bring this up is from a PP and because when I was talking to a CM about an ADR that was outdoor, I asked about the rain and whether or not they would cancel. She said that (I think it was for the Luau) that if it did rain, it would not happen...so I asked if I could make another ressie just in case and she said if I double-booked any meal, it would knock all my ADR's out altogether.

Needless to say, I didn't book the Luau because I didn't want to chance the rain and then not having another place to eat dinner....

Yes, since at least our '06 trip, they seem to be very aware of my other ressies when making/changing ADRs.

I was asked mine for Narcoisses and Brown derby

I was told if cancel before 48hrs no problem. Ten a person afterward and if my family 5 pulls a no call no show $250

I booked the Lua Show at the Poly and Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast and was asked for a CC. I also was charged the full amount (over 400.00 for 5 ppl) on my cc statement which I thought they just took a deposit. I also am debateing wether or not to do the dining plan so I would assume I would get this credited back if I do do the dining plan:confused:

It seems all we have right now is that some are being asked for credit card guarantees for restaurants other than Akershus and California Grill and some are not. (CRT and the dinner shows are supposed to be paid in full at booking which is different from a credit card no-show guarantee). A previous poster was asked for Narcoosees and Brown Derby, which are not traditionally guarantee restaurants.

This is crazy, I see double bookings on guests all the time when I'm pulling ADR's for people. The only thing that will cancel your ADR is you calling to do so. I'm not saying the CM didn't tell you that, I'm just realizing not all CM's are completely up to speed. WOW!

Also all this talk of people being asked for a credit card for locations that don't need them is strange because the screen we work on will only let you enter a CC # when it is an ADR that requires one. For example if I'm booking CP I couldn't hit the billing info button even if I wanted to.
