One thing I thought was true but was confirmed today by Mayfield is the total destruction of Mandalore. I mean, we get serious hints that it's messed up but I don't think anyone confirmed that it is totally destroyed like Alderaan. How do we suppose the Empire pulled that off?

Well, there was the purge but I thought that was more complete distraction if the people/society there, maybe the planet is now not hospitable to people, etc - I there thought it meant the planet was literally blown up. Seems to be what Mayfield is implying though if the people of a planet were totally wiped out but the planet was still there guess you could still say Mandalore (as it was) is "gone"

plus in an earlier episode Din tealls Bo that "no one is there any more" regarding Mandalroe - so I think it physically still exists, just was made inhostpitable by the Empire

I have to assume it doesn’t actually use facial recognition to verify the user, it just records the face for security reasons. I imagine his face will be a plot point later, they’ve made too big a deal out of it for Death Watch to not turn on him.

Immediately my thoughts as well. Gideon is going to use the scan in a major moment, possibly next week to get him to choose the Death Watch or Grogu, and of course he’s going to choose the Grogster. Or as you said, Gideon could just skip the middle man and go right to the Death Watch before he even tries to make that deal with Din.

It’s mainly a way for Disney to get their money’s worth of Pascal the actor in S3 and beyond rather than just his voice. I’m fine with it. I know some people are angry or will be angry that he’s going to have his helmet off in more screen time in the near future, but it’s been foreshadowed since the initial Cara Dune episode when they helped those villagers. It’s not like he’s always going to have his helmet off either

My guess is delays due to covid and probably working around film schedules for creatives involved since filming was shut down for a good 4 months at minimum this year.

Maybe Bad Batch starts in October when there’s a lull in MCU shows, and then that leads into Mando S3

I think staring next year at the end of the year the MCU series and SW series will both have new episodes dropping at the same time. Especially if the series each end up becoming multi seasoned such as Mando.

Well Hawkeye AND Ms Marvel are both slated for “Late 2021” releases, so it’s inevitable that we see multiple shows dropping at the same time. But 2021 is still going to be “light” on releases, but still far more than we’ve gotten so far. And it’s all building up to that late 2021 timeframe when we start getting an onslaught of content overlapping. I don’t think Hawkeye and Ms Marvel will overlap. One might come out in November and the other in Late December, but Mando is going to coincide with one, or possibly both. And we also don’t know what the situation with the Mando spin offs are. I don’t remember a timeframe given for either, but it’s certainly possible we get either Rangers or Ahsoka in the fall. Iirc Mando S2 started filming in January of this year and was finished around July/August. They could theoretically film Rangers or Ahsoka at the same time as Mando to capitalize on some of their crossovers and release it in the fall

Obviously I want it as soon as possible but hard to get too worked up of just a couple of months later ... Not like with Game of Thrones when there were like 18 month + delays

Or like Stranger Things where the kids will be in their mid 20s by the time the next season comes out

At least with Mando, the 2 main characters are masked or a puppet, so there isn’t any aging if they wait a bit between seasons.

I think it's due to the pandemic. I don't think many productions were able to start filming until the summer months. If they usually film in the spring that would push it back.

He had the access codes that Mayfeld provided on the code cylinder that he inserted into the computer. The scan was just like an ATM taking a picture in case they need to look at it later - your PIN is what gives you access at an ATM but the camera is only for if there is fraud.

Season 2 wrapped principle photography (shooting) 5 days before lockdown. They started shooting in October 2019. I don’t think they’re behind because of the pandemic as much as this was planned. I’ve heard from a few people that the plan is to shoot Mando S3, Rangers of the New Republic S1, and Ahsoka S1 simultaneously. Pure guess, but I think we get Rangers of the New Republic in October 2021, Mandalorian December 2021, Ahsoka February 2021
