I love this news! I really enjoyed the recent run of Mickey cartoons - I still haven't ridden the Runaway Railway! I am excited to see more.
The Mickey Mouse shorts have become the new Stacy must do’s on a Disney vacation for me. I know I can watch them any time (I can watch Stacy too) but the Mickey Mouse shorts are always in in my hotel after a day at the parks

I will be interested to see the exact styling of the characters in this new series. I generally like the writing of the new series but not a fan of the art style - I know it is a bit of a "get off my lawn!" attitude but too Ren and Stimpy to me (and I love Ren and Stimpy, but I dont' need Goofy looking like a strung out adict)

Some of them have that kind of stuff, but mostly I find the art style to be evocative of the original Mickey shorts.

It’s absolutely Ren and Stimpy adjacent. And I never liked Ren and Stimpy, but for some reason, it works for me with Mickey and Friends. Maybe it’s because all Mickey related content for a long time has been geared toward young children that it’s fun to get to watch these characters again. I was bothered by it at first, but I’ve grown to love it

yeah, like I said, I like the writing - I think there is a happy medium between the recent prior versions and this one that makes them a little more edgy but not this far. I get what @BrianL is saying as it is similar to the original shorts, but I feel like this went in that direction but went too far

Someone else! I strongly dislike the new looks of the characters for shorts. And the way the dialogue is done. Mostly noises. I think the original stuff looks much better than this. They had mostly correct proportions. Exaggerated enough to be a cute cartoon but not over the top with a stick for a torso. I really wanted to like the new cartoons too.

I don’t strongly dislike, but it looks cheap for a Disney production. I really like the shorts overall and most of the characters (Goofy excluded) don’t look that bad. It just looks like they didn’t have the budget to finish the product like we expect from Disney. I know that look is intentional, but you would think Disney could better thread this needle of trying to look edgy with characters we have come to expect to be presented in certain fashion.

All that said, isn’t close to the steaming pile of tumblr art trash many cartoons are today.

Have watched the trailer, in f you want to avoid spoilers I definitely would avoid it. Not that anything super major is shown but the voice over sort of discusses the plot line (or at least "a" plot line)
True but that voice is from season 1. Some very interesting settings too. I watched it but don’t feel spoiled, I feel more excited.

Definitely didn’t feel spoiled except for one character appearance. But looks like more action in this season. Cant wait

For me, trailers are used to determine if I will watch something or not. I am already sure I will be watching, so the trailer does nothing for me. The shows are short lived - I don't want to see anything ahead of time.

Was a great trailer.
Yeah and that appearance was not who I was expecting. Thought it was someone specific at first, but it’s looking like it’s someone else I wasn’t expecting to see in this series.
