Disney News Round Up

Word is the ride is not opening after this weekend. Some sort of problem so the opening date is TBA with a projected late May opening. Soft openings are very possible though.

Correct supposedly something with the projections for the animatronics hasn't been going smoothly so they are working on that. I have been hearing they may have a soft opening on Saturday.

More, almost a full ride through SDMT. Don't judge until you ride it. Or, don't ride it based on speculation, which means more FP+ available for the rest of us. :-) http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/04/full-ride-through-take-a-trip-aboard-seven-dwarfs-mine-train-in-new-fantasyland/
I'm actually very surprised they released this today. I saw they released a teaser of sorts earlier in the day and then all of the sudden almost a full ride through comes out. I would've thought disney would wait for official opening to release a video like that unless they want to build the hype more I don't know. It also looks like this swinging will be very cool.

We've seen the audio-animatronics for the Dwarfs and at least half of the exterior of the ride. There are still things we haven't seen. SW is suppose to be in there somewhere, probably at the cottage. I'll be there the last week of June, and I looking forward to the experience.

I think they said you will get a peek of Snow White and the Dwarfs celebrating inside the cottage at the end of the ride. So I wonder does that mean they will have the stand still statues from the old ride like the vultures. Or do they have AA's that go with the ride. I am not sure we will see.

maybe it will just be a projection

Very cool news from Animal Kingdom. This has not been put out by disney but strong reports suggest that starting in early June a new nighttime offering will be starting at AK. This nighttime entertainment will take place at the new harambe theater and be called harambe nights. It will take place on Saturday night and cost $134 per adult. No word on what this show will be but the harambe theater is the new FOTLK theater so this suggests that, that theater will be open in very early June. There is a CM event there next week Thursday so most of the work is done.

$134?

Are drinks included?

I think so. You probably get a certain amount of food and drinks then can buy more if you wish. This with Epcot's after hour party looks to be an attempt for adult type entertainment. Although is this adult only?

Each Saturday night, Disney's Animal Kingdom will host a special event including appetizers, beer and wine, along with a new theatrical show in the new Harambe Theater. Afterwards, more food and drink will be on offer at the Harambe Nights Street party.

'Harambe Nights' will run on Saturdays, from June 7 to August 9 2014, 7pm to 10:30pm.

Two categories of seating will be available. With Premium costing $134+ tax for adults, and $94 for ages 3-9. Regular seating will cost $119+tax for adults, and $79 for ages 3-9.

Seeing that this will run for a short amount of time it seems as this is more of test to see how interest will be if AK were to offer this for good. I also think this is in preparation for night time entertainment coming with avatar and the new night time spectacular.

Don't know what to think about this one--- or maybe I do... $300 for a couple buys a lot of bud light.

Here, Here...

i can't help but to laugh at this one...without reserving full judgement as of yet to give them a chance.

This seems like they are trying - once again - to get new "exlcusive" events without putting in any additional funds or effort to really deserve the revenue from it. I mean...they built a new open air theater to replace the 15 year old temp one (so jimmy can play on the southwest side of property)...so we gotta shuffle the cost along, huh?
What you say? well...the jacked up special events at magic kingdom - pulling hours from the purchased tickets of those there during the day. The rash of Food and Wine/Flower and Garden upsell events (granted...i can see the point there), and of course the two headed fakest that started them all - the "fantasmic dinner package" and the Candelight processional package... where they charge a set fee and then decide what they want to feed me...and i get a seat to something where there are 4,000 other people sitting next to me who didn't jump through the hoop.

If the show is good...this might be worth it. But this seems like their desire to - again - get the revenue from their "boutique" park...
without building the boutique park.

I know...I know...not enough dust:wizard:...i'll try harder next time

unbelievable...

can anyone figure out what it is that they're buying?

i see "sophisticated culinary experience" and "immerse yourself in the lion king LIKE NEVER BEFORE"

are they going to go over and wake up the actual lions? is it tusker house chicken (more than likely)?

Is it too much know what i would be buying before they send me into the visa payment screen?
sure sounds like the standard show...a little bit of liquor (measured by pourmaster - of course)...and food from Donalds Breakfastosaurus...

hmmm...i was too hard again, wasn't i?

:rotfl: :rotfl2: I'm very pro-Disney but no absolutely not. This is ridiculous and I thought the event at Epcot was ridiculous also.

Disney told media today that they will announce mine train opening date tomorrow! Media members did get a chance to ride the mine train today.
