Disneyland have announced desert parties for their Halloween parties, so could a wdw return to desert parties be coming in the not too distant future?

One of the main things that isn't open yet imo - is Breakfast at MK. Or California Grill Sunday Brunch.
Nor are any of the dinner shows open yet, or focused Character dining (1900 Park Fare, Royal Table, Akershus, Disney Princess Tea, Story Book Dining)
Alot of the big dining event places are not open yet - Boma, Jiko at AK, Victoria & Alberts, Monsier Paul, Tokyo Dining & Takumi-Tei in EP, Flying Fish, ESPN Club (may not come back), are not open yet.
And the food courts for resorts that are not open of course.

The Wave (re-themed/re-opening by Oct 1)
Space 220 (supposedly by Oct 1)
Woody's Round Up BBQ (supposedly by Oct 1)

it's a small world (5 min wait)
Pirates (walk on)
Big Thunder x2 (walk on)
Splash (10 mins as they were loading remaining day guests, we were sent in the FP line)
Haunted Mansion (5mins)
Dumbo (walk on)
Barnstormer x2 (walk on and didn't have to leave the seat to go twice)
Pooh (walk on)
Teacups (walk on)
Space (walk on)
2 Cavalcades
Peter Pan (10 minute wait, posted 20)
Mine Train (13 minute wait, posted 20)
Jungle Cruise (walk on)

The problem isn’t just whether enough restaurants are open it’s whether they can run at full capacity. Many that are open still are not full capacity, largely due to staffing at this point.

I honestly don't think you're going to see the DDP back this year.

If you want to have your meals prepaid, I'd get a Disney Gift card and put what you'd spend on the DDP on the card instead.

No I don’t think so. They need character meals open to justify the DDP. People aren’t going to pay 75 a person for the DDP if sit down family style buffets are $25. They need the $50+ character meals to justify it.
