Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun!

Not sure if this sort of news is welcome or not in this thread, but here goes. The husband of one of my oldest friends (we go back to church nursery) just got a job at Disney World in supply and logistics for the resorts. I guess theoretically that could give me access to insider info on when the rest of the resorts might open, but I don't like to use people that way.

In general, I've found that those who know don't talk and those who talk, don't know. It's not likely your friend would share information that Disney doesn't want shared with the public, nor should he. Honestly, I take the "I have a source" posts here with a grain of salt. 99% of the time the information they're sharing is either wrong or it's information that can be found out easily.

It's probably just me, but I find the insider source posts particularly annoying. I haven't quite pinned down why, maybe it's because most of the time they're wrong. There have been a few on various boards that are eerily accurate, but they seem to go away after a while. Loose lips....;)

The bigger thing is those plans change quite frequently, so even if they are saying what they have heard doesn't mean it will come to pass.

That's what I saw too. The lack of shows, character meets etc. has little to do with lack of employees. It's money, plain and simple because safety concerns are gone.
Absolutely...most of the issues right now are due to money...they're not idiots; they have experts that have been advising them both from a health standpoint and economic...they knew full-well that they've been seeing an increase in crowds and that they could have started bringing entertainment back months ago...there was a way to do most safely, but they chose to not spend the money on it. Definitely disappointing for their customers.

As Dark Helmet said, my sources are from -
Your Father's Brother's Nephew's Cousin's Former Roommate

Wasn’t sure where to post this, but it’s certainly an “element of fun “
After around 50 trips , this was the first time I ever booked a Disney package! Always had APs in the past or booked hotel and tix separately - did a package for our July trip, and this was in our mail today

Too cute and the kids love them ! Also received some vouchers - assuming this is standard for packages ? Great surprise !

We didn’t get this 😩 We booked in December or January I think for January 2022. Does it come closer to the trip date?

Not that disappointing to most since the parks are still full with people paying full price.

I just read an article this morning that universal's dining was so messed up because they required people to have a table before they mobile ordered? and food wasn't allowed to go? I can see why it sucked so bad.

We haven't been to UO lately, but I've watched a few YouTube videos and it appears that what they began doing when they reopened last summer was to have you find a table, then place your mobile order and they would bring the food out to you. At the time I thought that was a great service and wished Disney was doing it that way. Of course that was back when the parks were at 25% or less capacity. I can see how that would make for a pretty inefficient system at full (or nearly full) capacity. Unless they can deliver food to the trash can or random bench you plan on eating off of!! :goodvibes

I got one of these for the very first time on the trip I just got back from, but they left it in my room at the GF instead of mailing them to me. My “package” was an odd ticketless one they did for 2020 recoveries iirc.

D
Yep, all standard for packages!

Thanks !! Definitely going to use the Fantasia Gardens vouchers as well !! Got (4) free ones--- haven't been there in the longest !!
