Mostly, yes. I found that I couldn’t customize a burger at the Pop food court, but I could anywhere else. You can check it out from home so you’re prepared on whether you need to order in person (which they are supposed to let you do if you have a food issue that can’t be done on the app) or can go ahead and mobile order exactly what you want.

Thank you for the idea to go in and play around with mobile ordering on the app. I just did that and I can customize the item I asked about, thank goodness! I will say, almost all counter service locations look like I could order right now and have my food within the next 15-30 minutes. I know it is an off time, but it does give me some hope that mobile ordering won't be so bad.

We were there June 10-17 and while I had read it was possible you would have to order your food early, it was never an issue for us either. At worst we couldn't get the "now" window and had to wait a half hour but I think that was only once for one restaurant.
We were there June 12 to June 20. On the first Sunday we ordered Satu'li at around 10AM for 11:45 figuring it would sell out around lunch time. At 11:30AM the first available was not until 1pm. We forgot to order in advance for Woody's Lunchbox and at 11:30AM the first available time slot was 1:35PM. We didn't have any other issues ordering but most of the time it was off normal lunch hours or around dinner time when the parks weren't as crowded and the quick service wasn't busy at all.

I'll also point out that it took 20 minutes from the time I said "I'm here" for Woody's lunchbox to the time it was ready. During that entire time I saw maybe 10-15 parties pick up their food.

Glad I could help. I’m a picky eater, and go downhill quick if I don’t get food when I’m hungry, so I always have to plan my meals ahead on vacations, and playing with the app from home made my 2 post-COVID trips so much easier! I love mobile-ordering because I no longer have to worry about whether the cast member taking orders heard my request correctly amidst all the hustle and bustle 😆😆

Went in May and I was able to walk up instead of mobile order...but I also don't have a phone that supports mobile ordering so I just mentioned that at the front. 😅
I will say that in my mid-June trip they were pushing mobile ordering pretty aggressively. At Tomorrowland Terrace and ABC Commissary there were workers stationed at the entrance intercepting anybody who looked like they were walking in to order, telling them to use mobile order. Either showing people how to do it on their phones or taking the order themselves on an iPad looking thing for you (maybe that's what you mean that you did). Lots of signs in front of QS places telling you to use mobile order to get food here.

You make a very good point about not having to worry that the cast member heard you correctly. We've had some issues with our order being wrong before, so hopefully we will have good luck with mobile ordering in that respect. BTW, I've been playing with the app for the last 20 minutes or so. I'm having a lot of fun looking over the menus and customizing orders. I can't believe I didn't think to do this myself.

Yeah to be fair we didn't pick things that were super-popular, I don't think. Pecos Bill's and ABC Commissary were a wait once I said "I'm here" (not 20 minutes but noticeable), but I was allowed to order for the windows I wanted.

They definitely were not happy with me, but one look at my phone and they understood. I didn't run into anyone taking orders through an ipad! But I'm glad they're doing ipads for the (granted super small percentage) of people that can't mobile order on their phone.

Are you able to customize a mobile order? My son likes the pulled pork mac and cheese at Flame Tree, but he doesn’t like the cole slaw on it. Can I customize in the app that he wants it without the cole slaw?
For some stuff & I think no cole slaw is one. But, ds doesn’t like sauce on pizza & there is never an option for that.

I like having the option of mobile ordering. Operative word here is OPTION. I don’t want it to be a situation where you must mobile order for QS. I understand that it’s a very easy way to deal with staff shortages they have now but I hope it doesn’t keep them from staffing up QS.
