Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2025 Edition

I remember when Magic Kingdom's was going to get the same refresh as the Disneyland one.... a few decades ago.

I wonder if it's even still on the list of upgrades for MK anymore.... it's still pretty popular "as is".
My gut feeling is that it gets some sort of update eventually, it has a well earned reputation. Obviously the big problem right now is all the other work happening.

New video from Walt Disney Imagineering:
My god…

They did it! They made a walking, talking animatronic!

I hope Disneyland and Walt Disney World make a similar animatronic like Olaf (or just make an Olaf animatronic for Epcot's Norway pavilion), but there’s this concern that an unruly American will damage it.

EDIT: I definitely can see Walt Disney Imagineering building a Stitch robot animatronic, given the character's popularity.

They can't do that in Florida - he'll melt! 😉

Saw the Zootopia 2 preview last night. Now this is what a sequel should be! I was meh on Moana 2, but this time the story is great and the movie is very funny while still having heart. It's probably recency bias but I might even like it a tad more than the original.

Moana 2 was okay. It was supposed to be a series, and probably should have stayed as one. Then again, it did over a billion at the box-office, so maybe it wasn't such a bad call! I mean, I didn't hate it or anything, but you could feel where it jumped around a little. At least it looked good.

I just saw it - I think I agree. The movie is quite funny too - a real blast! I really enjoyed it.

I saw Zootopia 2 last night, and it was great! The craziest thing I noticed, during the credits was that…

…current Disney CEO Bob Iger made a voice cameo as a weatherman tiger named "Bob Tiger"! I mean, does he really think he can try to be better than Michael Eisner and have appearances in Disney stuff like Zootopia 2?

Iger began his career as a TV weatherman in Ithaca, NY.

Makes sense. He was a weatherman a long time ago! I don't think his cameo has anything to do with "trying to be better than Michael Eisner." That would be kind of far fetched, Eisner's been gone a long time... I'm sure it was just something that seemed fun for Iger to do. Very few people will notice anyway.

I do like that there were several easter eggs in the movie, though. For instance, a building (maybe a restaurant?) named Ariel's Grotto on the docks of the swampy area. And the chase scene in the maze toward the end was straight out of The Shining
