So a new ship or might they send one of the Wish class ships there? At first I wondered if Disney was just offloading the Magic and Wonder on OLC, lol. Maybe there will be some announcements at D23Looks to be about the same size as the Wish class ships.

ETA, looks to be a new ship. More discussion here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/disney-announces-ninth-ship-to-be-based-in-tokyo.3949665/
Well, Disney Parks Blog basically says it will be like the Disney Wish:OLC isn't going to take hand-me-downs!I'm pretty sure this thing is going to be a mobile Tokyo Disneysea! Okay, maybe not, but if it follows OLC's usual MO, then there will be no corners cut. It'll have the best of everything!
Well, Disney Parks Blog basically says it will be like the Disney Wish:
A new Disney cruise ship, to be registered and based in Japan year-round, will be constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with imaginative designs created by Walt Disney Imagineering. A sister ship to the popular Disney Wish, it will feature many guest-favorite venues and experiences from that ship with select modifications specially designed with Japanese guests in mind.
But I bet it will be the best version of the Disney Wish possible, lol
The new ship looks to be 100% focused on the Japanese market as it's doing short sailings in the Tokyo area. So not at all focused on foreigners wanting to go to that part of the world. That's not surprising as the parks in Japan are not geared to westerners either (meaning that they're not a core demographic).Any more details? I glanced at the document and see the OLC is involved?

I hope they make it so you can actually hear the skipper better.... The ride is not my favorite (I don't find the jokes that funny) but it's made worse by the fact the sound quality is so bad you can barely hear the jokes, and if you're near the motor you can hear it even less.Jungle Cruise is closing for a refurb in late August:

Yes! This is one of my favorite rides and DH loves it because of the jokes. But we always have to request the front because we worry we won't be able to hear, which then makes the wait longer for us.I hope they make it so you can actually hear the skipper better....

I think the motor makes the biggest difference. Sitting in the back by the motor is not great imoI don't know if that's really the speakers or just the some skippers really hold the mike close and kind of muffle themselves.
