Vaccinated Guests Will No Longer Be Required to Take COVID-19 Tests to Sail on Disney Cruise Line

Since returning to service last summer, Disney Cruise Line has required even vaccinated guests to take a COVID-19 test before sailing. Starting in just a few weeks time, these regulations will be changing.
Beginning September 23, 2022, for sailings aboard the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish and Disney Wonder and beginning November 7, 2022, for sailings aboard the Disney Magic, fully vaccinated Guests are no longer required to participate in COVID-19 testing in order to sail.

I miss it by 11 days

Days of the week always matter, and Sunday would be a weird ride premiere day, IMO. W&D matters because it means that its already a really busy weekend so there’s not as much room on property that needs filling and it would make more financial sense to open a new ride on a weekend when they have at least a few rooms that need filling.
On the other hand, Guardians officially opened on the Memorial Day weekend, which was certainly not a slow period on the Disneyworld calendar.

If it needs to be a slow time when there's rooms available then it won't open until next year. It's not something they are going to worry about. If it opens to guests that weekend then the media preview will long be over. And media can travel whenever and they wouldn't need a ton of rooms for that.

W&D is also the smallest race weekend. I've been there for it 3 times, twice running. It really isn't that busy compared to other busy times and once you hit Oct it's all busy imo it just gets busier.

Disney Cruise Line Sends out Back-To-Back Conflicting Emails Regarding Covid Pre-Testing for Vaccinated Guests

So for now, according to Disney Cruise Line, guests ages 12 and older are still required to be vaccinated to sail and fully vaccinated guests are still required to pre-test 1-2 days before their sail date.

Watched stream today of someone on People Mover that the ballast and ties are almost set for rest of layout near Tron. They maybe able to complete the layout this week if the track pieces are all ready to place. Not sure how much testing is needed tho once line is complete.

That’s possible if they open up applications in the next week or so. Gives them September for interviews and hiring, October for initial training, November for cast previews, and December for AP/DVC previews.

With Guardian's it took five months from the time they opened up job applications.
With Remy's Adventure it took them five months as well.

I know things are a little different now with COVID, but it seems Disney has still been having difficulties with staffing.

Of course Disney could opt to skip a month's worth of "previews" and the fine tuning that goes along with it, as this is a "clone" of another attraction already in operation... They might have most the kinks worked out already. But I think offering D23 and DVC owners a first glance is as much a promotion as it is a reward.

Yeah I think all of that, plus:
- Beacons of Magic
- 50th anniversary cavalcade.

Fireworks will be interesting. I assume they will stop the new overlay with Walt/Roy/Mickey they have just added.

Will they go back to HEA? I doubt it because I can't see them going back to a previous show, but you can't rule it out.
Why not? Disneyland brings back old shows and parades all the time.

At 11:04am I got a THIRD email saying… double oops, testing no longer required for vaccinated guests! It’s so confusing so I’ll give it a few days to shake out. 😂

We’re on the September 23 wish sailing and I would have preferred testing remain. We cancelled our cruise in august when my asymptomatic daughter tested positive. Days 2 and 3 of the cruise, my wife and I would have been sick as dogs, and it would have been an absolute nightmare of a trip.

Why would either of those matter. W&D doesn't go through MK and imo days of the week don't matter at a themepark. I doubt it opens to the masses that early anyway. It doesn't seem like they've been testing that much and even though it's in Shanghai they still need to go through all that. But I don't see why they couldn't have a media event that weekend/early week.
it honestly makes perfect sense to do AP and DVC previews that week with so many people who are part of those groups making trips already for these events.

I agree that previews would make sense (and would make me super happy, since I’ll be there) But I think Disney would want to have the actual, official opening be sometime when there isn’t another event happening.
