It feels different since kids go back to school in August over here.

And they haven't been released yet and no official date either.
Our schools don't get out until the last week of June and start after Labor Day. When my kids were in public school, it always made us sad when back-to-school commercials started up about two weeks after their summer vacation began.

Kinda feels like it when school starts in 4 weeks....
Disney also doesn’t totally follow the calendar as far as what they define as Summer. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened Memorial Day Weekend and was advertised as a Summer opening by Disney.

Also fun to describe it as still Summer in WDW once MNSSHP kicks off and all the fall decor starts to go up in mid-August.

It's weird how some parts of the country start school so early - right in the middle of the hottest part of summer!

Schools around my area start on September 8. Maybe that's why summer doesn't seem like it's ending around here yet. Although, look at Target and Walmart - they've had their back-to-school stuff out since July 1.

I grew up in NY and was so used to starting after Labor Day (my husband still teaches in NYC, too). We live in Eastern PA and our kids go back on August 24. I hate it.

I'm heading to DLR on August 12th. Oh well...I guess my back will not have to suffer the bumpy nature of this coaster! :)
I'm so sad. I haven't ridden the Matterhorn since I was 6 and it was my favorite ride (really one of the only things I remember about DL). I was so looking forward to this ride. We will be there the following week.
