Showtimes Removed for Future KiteTails Performances at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Disney website has removed showtimes for KiteTails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting May 27.

The show is expected to be changed, and this update could indicate the day we will see those changes in the park.

Disney stated they are “shifting the focus of the show so guests will be able to experience [it] from anywhere around the Discovery River Lagoon, with shorter and more frequent performances throughout the day.”

This could mean that "Rivers of Light" is finally ready !!! (Sorry.... couldnt resist)

So….
they have the cast
they have the set
they have been rehearsing
But we still don’t have a more accurate opening date than ‘sometime this summer’ 🙄
We go in July and love Nemo so hoping it will be open when we’re there (also crossing fingers for Fantasmic)

We're with ya on that! We're hoping for June. Fantasmic too, but I'm steadily losing hope on that one.

(I guess "sometime this summer" is more promising than Disney's "later this year" phrase lol)

Disneyland Paris Lights Up the Eiffel Tower for 30th Anniversary Celebration

A group of 30 guests witnessed this one-of-a-kind event, all of whom had a special connection to Disneyland Paris. The group featured a mix of cast members who have been working at the resort since opening day, or who were VoluntEARS of the year, as well as dedicated fans and loyal guests.

But that’s not all they got to experience! Earlier that night, the guests started their journey at Disneyland Paris – enjoying a fine meal at Walt’s – an American restaurant before watching “Disney D-Light,” a magical show launched for the 30thAnniversary celebration that uses drone technology, and the nighttime spectacular, “Disney Illuminations.”

Doctor Strange opens today! ... trending a bit lower than I expected on RT

Doctor Strange Rotten Tomatoes

As a huge Raimi fan I'm excited as reviews are mentioning his style is all over the film, but that may turn some others off. The twisted child in me grew up on a diet of comic books, Troma and Raimi films ... so who would have ever though I'd grow into see a full fledged MCU on the big screen that included James Gunn and Sam Raimi ?!

I saw it last night. It was interesting - perhaps a tad more violent than I would have liked. A lot of the elements they brought in made me nervous (certain disliked ideas from the comics), but as usual with the MCU they played a bit better. I am still not all that jazzed about the multiverse thing. It's like they want to make everything count - but why when certain things just aren't that good?

I talked with friends who attended a screening last night, and they were surprised with how much they let Raimi cut loose with the violence. I figured Marvel/Disney would keep him controlled more like the Spider-Man films, but I've been told some to the stuff later in the film is right out of Raimi's Evil Dead / Drag Me To Hell playbook. I guess parents bringing kids need to be aware that his could be considered the MCU's 1st sort of horror film?

It definitely has horror vibes, but isn't really a horror movie. It's not quite in the Evil Dead area, but it's on the high-end of PG-13. There is no serious gore or anything, but it gets a little rough.

Construction Work to Impact Select Areas of Kidani Village at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Through October 2022

To ensure facilities are maintained to the highest quality standards, the Walt Disney World Resort will be conducting construction work on resort buildings and structures at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village in the coming months.

Guests will be able to see and hear construction work around the resort during daytime hours. The Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center, The Barbeque Pavilion, and the Disney Transportation bus stop area will be under construction, but they will remain open throughout the duration of the construction. Lobby overlook areas will be temporarily closed for construction later this summer, with only one overlook area closed at a time.

Construction work is expected to continue through early October 2022.

Honestly, I wonder if that will work in it's favor long term... My husband refuses to see Marvel movies because they are all the same.... so changing it up a bit thematically, but also with a plot that isn't just big bad causes problems, heroes fight, **** blows up, the end might be a little more interesting... I'm sure it still vaguely follows that with some big CGI battles, but the multiverse at least brings in a lot of different elements.

Test the Limits of Reality with Products and Experiences Inspired by ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’

Calling all sorcerers and fanatics of the Mystic Arts, it’s officially May 6 which means “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is in theaters now! And I don’t know about you, but I’ve been counting down the moments until I would be reunited with Earth’s mightiest sorcerer, Stephen Strange (or should I say, Doctor Stephen Strange), on the big screen. Looking to celebrate the film’s release? Disney Parks is full of ways to jump into the multiverse.

Quoting myself:

Disney KiteTails at Disney's Animal Kingdom to have its last performance as a show on May 26

Beginning May 27, KiteTails will switch to a walk-by viewing experience without scheduled performance times and none of the theater-based performers.

Disney says it will be, "shifting the focus of the show so guests will be able to experience 'Disney KiteTails' from anywhere around the Discovery River Lagoon, with shorter and more frequent performances throughout the day.
