According to communication from runDisney, they will not guarantee that participants in the Springtime Surprise weekend will receive medals. runDisney cites “global supply chain challenges” as the reason for the lack of medals.

runDisney does leave open the possibility that the medals could arrive on time, but is asking runners to confirm their mailing address should the medals need to be mailed out after the race. Check your email for more details.

That's going to be a real bummer. I know a lot of people look forward to getting lots of pictures with their medals. People are going to be very disappointed.
 
Antics Return To Whispering Canyon Cafe

Before the closure, one of the most famous antics at this spot was what happened when you asked your server for ketchup. Instead of bringing you a single bottle for your table, the server will have you shout together with them, “We need ketchup!” Then, whichever table has the ketchup at the time will bring it ALL to you! You’ll end up with about a dozen bottles of ketchup at your table. Then it’s your group’s responsibility to run the ketchup to the next table that asks for it.

And that wasn’t the end of the shenanigans here! While we were there, a server yelled at the whole restaurant to be quiet because someone at their table was on the phone. Then another server yelled for the guest to please order a pizza for them before they hung up. A third joined in and requested that the call be put on speaker so we could all say hello!

Nice! I went during the pandemic and we did still have some antics, they were a bit more low-key and the restaurant wasn't very full. "Sunshine" though was endlessly entertianing, and her manager too. "What did you do now, Sunshine?" he said as he was called from the back. Fun stuff!

We went multiple times during spring break. The first night we went, they weren't doing the ketchup. But next morning for breakfast they were! My kids were so excited since they've been talking about that since we first did it in 2019!

Whelp I guess it's good I had already resigned myself to not being able to attend when we go in May...happy for those who are going this summer.
