I want to start collecting the Disney Mr. Potato Head and pieces when I go to WDW. Were in WDW can I find a store that sells them? :confused3 Also do the WDW pieces fit a regular Mr. Potato Head body or do I have to buy the body as well snd not just the pieces? :confused3 Thanks for all your help ;)

Once upon a toy at DTD has a large assortment of the mr potato head pieces also have the spuds and sets as well. you dont need a new potato if you have one already.

you can fill a box for $18 could be more now as that was in March of 07. the box has to close and stay closed. should you decide to get a potato besure to fill the "butt" with pieces too
there are also different stores in the parks that have the pieces,. if you are staying at the resorts i beleive they have a small area of my potato head . Pop Century does.

Oh -- you and my DH. :dance3: ;) He bought three different Star Wars Mr Potato Heads last night (to go along with the Spud Trooper he already had).
You can buy specialized sets most anywhere. He bought his at the Contemp gift shop last night.
Once Upon A Toy store in DTD does have a large assortment of parts, as does Mouse Gears in Epcot.

There are supposedly six places to get Mr. Potato Head parts:
1. Once Upon a Toy (Downtown Disney)
2. County Bounty (Toontown Faire at Magic Kingdom)
3. MouseGear (Epcot)
4. L.A. Props (Disney Studios)
5. Chester & Hester Dinosaur Treasures (Animal Kingdom)
6. Everything Pop (Pop Century)

I got parts at MouseGear, L.A. Props, and County Bounty.

You do not have to buy the body at WDW and as it's been mentioned, it's much cheaper to buy a body at a local store. You then can fill the entire box with parts. I managed to cram in a lot of parts; it was kind of like a puzzle.

One thing that I noticed was that the Disney hands are not the same as the hands that come with some of the Mr Potato Heads. Just make sure your Potato has hands that can hold things (clenched fist with round opening).

Each of the store had some of the same things and some different things. If there is something you are specifically looking for you should check the different stores. If you're not fussy, then most of the stores sell the same basics (at least MK, Epcot, and DS, did).

There was so much at the Once Upon A Toy store in DD that we looked no where else for my friend's niece and nephew. I never thought about there being different selection at each of the stores. We obviously had no problems filling the $50 plastic potato head guy up with stuff.

We got lucky also with two silly suitcases each on super duper clearance that also had Disney stuff inside with a head.
