Has anyone purchased one of those digital mix sticks MP3 players from the disney catalog yet? I'm not real sure how they work. :confused3 Do I have to pay to download music on the computer or can I transfer music from cd's we already have onto them? Also where can you get extra empty memory clips or extra rechargeable batteries? Can you just buy them at staples or office depot? :earseek:

I'm really not up on this new technology but daughter would really like one for christmas :Pinkbounc

Thanks

Hi :wave2:

I am looking at getting the Tinkerbell one for my DD too. Besides Disney Direct, Best Buy is going to sell them too but I am not sure about anywhere else. I'm clueless when it comes to MP3 so I am anxious to hear others opinions on these.

Thanks

Yes you can transfer music from your cd's to the mp3 player. For more memory you would need to get an SD/MMC card which could hold up to an extra 1 gigabyte of music. You also don't need extra rechargeable batteries. The battery is rechargeable and built in, so you would just need to charge the player itself. I'm sure this player will come with software so you can easily transfer music to the device, it should also tell you how to charge it. My guess on charging it would just be pluging it into the computer.

I'm thinking about getting one of these from my dd 5th birthday (right before Christmas). She loves music and I think it would make a great and cheap starter MP3 player for her.

I'm in love with the princess one. Santa better bring me one for xmas or he'll be an unhappy man next year! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Can you download music from the computer with these??? What is all the hype. I too am clueless. Why is it worth twice as much as a CD player?

So according to the above post you can download music from cd to this MP3 player. My question is how do you play music on this? Is it by headphones connected to it or do you hook it up to your computer or what? Ok all of you tech savvy people help!!.

there is a headphone plug at the end of the unit. You can hook it up to speakers, or if you're using it in the car, you can plug an FM transmitter or cassette adapter to play it over your car speakers.

The only time you'll really hook it up to the PC is when you're dumping music into it's 128mb memory. Or just buy more SD/MMC cards and listen to it from the card.

They're just like the IPOD Shuffle. It's worth 2x a CD player because it's small. This one is probably the length of your finger, but it holds up to 750 songs (on a 1GB card) or about 75 CDs (average 10 songs/CD). Try that with a CD player - you'd have to carry around all those CDs.

Yes, you can download music from your CDs or from the internet.

Hmm. I haven't seen these. I am going to have to go look. I think the Tink one would be a nice stocking stuffer ... for me.

My girls want iPods though. They both have iRiver MP3 players and they just "aren't cool".

If I have songs in my iTunes, can I transfer them to the MP3 player? How?

I just did a search on the Disney Mix Sticks and found some articles that these will be available in mid October at Disney Direct, Sears, Walmart, Target and Limited Too. I looked at Walmart today and the store here does not have them yet. I was going to order from Disney Direct but I think I will wait to see if these local stores get them in. :flower:

I am confused. When I was reading posts people were saying you can download your cd's......so I was thinking something like an IRIVER.....which btw blows ipods away because you can get cheaper dl's and use your boombox, cd player, radio, tape player, etc...

But when I read the discription it just says usb port, meaning you would have to put them on your computer first then dl through there. Am I wrong???

If you want something you don't have to pay for dl's might as well get an IRIVER.

MAGGIEW, If your dd's want to get rid of thier irivers let me know, my wife and ds each want one once they seen what I can do with mine!!!

Hi, I'm just kind of confused by your post. What kind of IRiver do you own?

I own the 512 mb version from earlier this year.

You do not have to touch a computer to put music on it if you don't want to. You can transfer music straight from a boombox, portable cd player, tape deck. Heck you can even record voice with it. It comes with a cord that you plug into where you would normally put the headphones and then you can put the headphones on the IRIVER. Then while you are listening through the IRIVER just press record and it will record what you are playing.

Now you can also dl music like an ipod as well, but I have found cheaper sites were I can dl a song for .02 to .10 cents per song or less than $1.50 a cd. Try doing that off of itunes or walmart, etc..

Also I record music off of Yahoo musiclaunch or live365 without dl'ing, just hit record while you are listening...ahhhhhh free and cheap music!!!!!

Oh ok, well I have a 30gb iPod Photo and love the setup. I don't really have a problem with ripping songs from cd's to my computer, then putting them on my iPod. I also barely use iTunes to buy music for my iPod, I'm bad and use torrents ;) . lol

I just have one more question, so you put a cd in a cd player, then you hook the wire from the cd player to your mp3 player. When you hit record do you just let it record the whole cd? It sounds like you would need to wait like an hour or more to put a whole cd on there because it's recording directly from what's playing to the mp3 player?

Yes that is how it works, but luckily there aren't any bands who make a cd that you would want the whole thing of right....lol.

It's not a problem for me because I listen and record at the same time while I am doing my work. Like I said all you do is press record to start and stop rcording, so when I am on live 365 or launchcast I can freely listen until I hear a song I want and just play record, or I can just borrow a cd from someone a quickly record a song or 2 without being near a computer...heck we can be at a ballgame while I do it.

Hey to each thier own, but I can get an IRIVER for cheaper than an IPOD and get the music cheaper as well, and if I was computer illiterate I can still have an MP3 player. I haven't used torrents....what is that and how does it work??
