For those of you who belong to it, is it worth it? The intro promo seems like a really great deal for disney movies. I'm going to start my own collection for DS and eventually DD (really - they're for me;))...my mom has all the movies on VHS and won't let them leave her house. :rotfl:

Is the selection wide? I know a lot of the cartoons are in the vault (Lion King especially:guilty:) and I'm not about to pay $30 on e-bay for a copy...I'll just keep scouring garage sales for it. But I figure I should start now before even more go into the vault and I miss out. I don't care so much about the live-action stuff, I'm a fan of the cartoon ones.

Thanks!

Pretty good for the money - We belonged for years - we'd sign-up and then we'd cancel and then they'd get us back by another good offer (get 4 free etc). until we have just about every Disney Film. If you wait a few years you can get them for cheaper but I seem not to be able to wait.

I'm in the club right now and love it. The entry promo is a good deal. Then the movies you must buy to end the contract suck because you have to pay top rate plus the shipping and i would always see it cheaper out in the stores. But I now that I am at VIP status, I get 1st movie at full price then the rest for 50-60% off. Hope this helps.

when I signed up I did a google search and found a better code then the one they had sent. When I figured out what I needed to buy they came out to <$9 a movie...not too bad for disney!

We've been members for a few years too, and the initial promo is awesome. It's paying full price and shipping on the remaining ones that's the killer. They do have some good deals though, once you've met your commitment, and sometimes they have free pins when you buy a movie at full price. I think the last deal I saw was buy one movie at regular price (at least $19.95), get 60% off additional movies.

I recommend trying to fulfil the contract as quick as possible, in as few shipments as possible. That way you're spending less on shipping costs, and it works out better mentally/emotionally, because you can still easily remember how cheap those first movies were.

Now when doing this, be sure to take out any promotion you get (there should be a link to do so in the promo info), because if you get a movie half off, or whatever, that movie will likely NOT count towards your contract; they have to be something like 19.95 or more, for a DVD, to count towards the contract.

We took over 1.5 years to finish the contract, and every month that went by it was harder to do. I finally had to buy a movie that I literally could not find elsewhere (a "collectors" edition of Lilo and Stitch in a tin...this was before the new DVD version of the movie came out) so I could stop talking myself out of buying things b/c I'd seen it for cheaper at Costco or wherever.
