Disney Movie about Secretariat (2010)

I'm really excited about this as well. I "met" Secretariat at Claiborne Farm years ago, when he was at stud there. He was such a sweet horse! The man who took care of him was really nice, too, and gave me a lock of Secretariat's mane. I still have it, framed with some pictures I took of him that day. I am really looking forward to seeing the movie.

Secretariat was an amazing horse! I'm anxious to see the movie as well.

ZephyrHawk, Do you have horses?

I have owned in the past, mostly Arabians. However, I don't right now. No time or money. My dad still has horses, though.

Lucky dog. By the time I knew he existed he had passed.

Mr. Triple Crown

Yes, once again, I was born in 1979, so I completely missed the last Triple Crown winner. I have been waiting ever since.

I got seriously excited when I saw a photo in my most recent issue of The Blood Horse which looked just like a stock photo from the 1973 Derby, but turned out to be a photograph taken during early filming! I hope they do everything accurately (warts and all). I remember going to see Seabiscuit and thinking "Yeah, okay, this is a good movie...now they should make one about a really good horse." I have basically worn my copy of Secretariat: The Making of a Champion, which the movie is to be based on, to pieces.

Greatest athlete ever?
I mean he still holds 2 of the 3 most important race records of the sport.
And looks like he should own the third.

What a heart.
