Disney Month

In an earlier thread, someone mentioned some specials last May 2003 during Disney Month....what is Disney Month and will they have it again in May 2004? What were the specials and how did you find/get them?

I was going to book in April 2003 at the end of the month. My TA told me to wait until May (2nd I think to be exact), because it was Disney month. So we did. We booked the 01/10/04 Eastern 7-day Cruise and had our choice of rooms so room selection was fine. We got 6088.

As little perks for Disney month we received $100.00 shipboard credit, 3 lanyards (one for each of us) which are nicer than the ones you can purchase onboard, a mickey visor, minnie visor and Capt. Mickey ears hat (for DS6), 3 trading pins and I think that's it. All the stuff came with the docs from TA's office some time in December. She said it was from Disney so it wasn't a TA thing or promotion.

I will check with my TA to see if they are doing it again this year. I would check with yours as well. It was cute and fun and helped get us excited for the trip. Not that we needed more help.

We actually disembark on May 2 from our 4/29 cruise. I wonder if I re-book on board on Sat May 1 if I'll get the Disney "extras". We were planning to re-book anyway, so I'll ask specifically about this and let everyone know when I get home.

I wonder if Disney Month is a promotion through the poster's travel agency, and not something through Disney. I'm interested to hear the answer.

Ours was March.
Our TA was all excited when she gave us this...when we paid off our trip she gave us a bag FULL of stuff...
1 picture frame
1 stuffed Mickey Mouse
1 stuffed Minnie Mouse
4 luggage tags
1 bag from the agency...

it was great! It was nice to get something when you paid off the trip!

This is the info I received last night. It looks like it may be a Garber Travel corporate thing. I will keep you posted.....

The official answer from HDQ:

I will be booking for a January 2006 western cruise so she wants to get the info for me regardless.

Wanted to report that I have no new information. Sorry, it appears it may be a TA thing and they have not decided whether to do it again or not. As soon as I get more info I will let you all know.

Did remember last night part of the perks was an autograph book for my DS6.
