Hi there. When we were in DL Sept 05 I saw a version of Disney Monopoly that was very cool. All the properties were Disney (Pirates, HM etc.) but I have never seen it anywhere else. I know that there is a Disney Monopoly from Hasbro but I don't think it is the same one (saw it online). Anyone here know what I am talking about or was I just dreaming? If you have seen this... is it available at DW? I am so kicking myself for not buying it then and there. Too lazy and cheap! :rotfl: We are at DW Mar 07 and am hoping for a second chance! Thanks!

I know what you are talking about - the theme park edition. I bought the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park edition and it is wayyy cool! I doubt you will find it for sale other than the usual places - WDW, DL, or Ebay. Your best option is to call WDW and order it from them.

Someone has one for trade on the trading thread on this budget board. Around page 13 - 15 or so

We have the Disney Theme Park edition Monopoly. We play it just about every night before bed. We love it. We bought it at Disney World for $50 and it came in a really nice tin.

Can someone please explain how the 2 games are different? I've seen one at Toys R Us & was planning on getting it at Christmas. Is that different than the one you are talking about....& if so, which is better?

TIA!

I have one, I bought it before we took our trip in 2002, pretty sure I got it at Wal Mart, it is just a Disneyfied version of the original game.

Ok here is how the games are different. We own both of them and I love my Disney Theme Park Monopoly better.

Themepark Edition: Properties are based on rides at ALL of the Disney theme parks including Paris and Tokyo. The railroads are Monorail, Bus, Boat, and Train. The token pieces are ride cars (doom buggy and tecups etc.)
Comes in a Tin

Disney Edition: Properties based on the Disney Movies (Tarzan, 101 Dalmations and such) Railroads are based on movies too (cruella deville car, alladin's carpet) Token pieces are BIG nice figurines from disney movies. Sleeping Beauty, Mogly, Lady and the tramp, Alice...
Comes in a Box

We may need to buy a replacement our Monopoly theme park game has been used sooooo much!

HTH anyone who is interested.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I guess I'll wait until our WDW trip in the spring & then I can buy the Theme Park edition!!

If you get an LTD catalog, they have the Disney monopoy in there. I am thinking of ordering me one.

It's also in the Lakeside Collection catalog, very similar to LTD, actually looks pretty much the same.

We bought this ($40.00!) at DIsney World last year.

They were NO WHERE to be found at Disney in September. This was so much fun to play.... but now the kids want the NEW Monopoly!
