Anybody buy one of these and their kids using it? I bought one for DD for Christmas ans was wondering if there was any 'accessories' that are needed before it can be used. I haven't opened the box and can't tell if everything needed is included.

Is the USB connector in the box? Do you kids like this? I don't want to spend the $ for an iPod for DD and thought this would be good for her for a couple of years.

I bought one for dd for Christmas, and I have taken it out of the box to charge up and pre-load with some music!

There is no USB cord - the player plugs right into your computer through the USB port.

I have loaded some music on it (I got 31 songs on it) and listened to it and it sounds really good.
I am going to buy some headphones for it. I just don't like the little earbuds.

I also bought one for DD for Christmas and haven't openned the box yet. I ordered the pink carrying case with it and its alot smaller than I thought but very cute.

I got it for DD for christmas. The bottom piece comes off to reveal the usb connection.

I got the pink purse, a couple of the pre-loaded SD cards, headphones and the AC adaptor.

I ordered a case, wrap-around earphones and a mix clip from disneyshopping.com. The mix clip (Disney Mania 3) is back ordered, expected 12/31, but the earphones were projected to be 13 weeks before they were available and they shiped with my initial order.

I received the Mix Stick yesterday. I ordered it from bestbuy.com because they were showing a 2 week wait when I ordered, disneyshopping.com was 4 weeks at the now (now 10 weeks according to what I saw last).

I have read that you can add memory. How do you do that? I have not opened mine either (I bought two). I ordered them from Disneydirect...but since they are on backorder and they are Santa gifts, I bought them at Target too just in case they didn't come in time. I had a discount online...but I may end up cancelling so I don't have to ship them back.

You just need a SD card for extra memory.
You would download the songs onto that.

How much are these? My 15 year old wants an ipod and that is fine for her. However, I don't think the 11 year old is responsible enough for an ipod, yet.

They are about $50. The one I got for DD has Tinkerbell on it. (She is a big Tink fan)

I finally found a silver one yesterday (wish they had more boy options). I bought the player, a case, wrap around ear phones, ac adapter and 1 of the albums. $110 for all of it.
Im going to watch for a deal on SD cards so we can record more sonngs, but for now he can temorarily use one of my extra camera cards.
