Just returned from a short trip to WDW to take DDs to Hannah Montana concert in Orlando. Where we ate and what we thought...

Night One:

Chefs De France - Probably our 10th meal here and by far the worst we've ever had. Don't know that we'll go back (and this used to be an ole "stand-by" for us:sad2: ). Best part of meal were the rolls. I ordered one of the salads w/ goat cheese crouton - very dry and bland - and the 4 cheese flatbread which was extremely bland. Glass of sauvignon blanc was good but the pour was about 2 oz (i'm not kidding...see below). Mom ordered a salad and lobster bisque - and said bisque was terrible. On plus side, service was attentive and kids meals were fine. GRADE: C+

Day Two:

Place by small world - pluto (cannot believe I am forgetting the name!!!) - Had a perfectly acceptable, crowded CS meal. I had the turkey pannini (good) and mom had chicken caesar salad (which she said was fine). One DD had pizza (which she loved and would not share) and other had PB&J. For a quick meal, would go back but probably still prefer Columbia House. GRADE: B

Narcoosees (Dinner) - This is the 4th time we've tried to eat there and every time we've cancelled our ADRs for one reason or another. Will not make the mistake (of cancelling) again. Had a wonderful meal and a terrific server (Joey). I ordered crab cake app and scallops with risotto. Both were fantastic. Mom ordered a salad involving gorgonzola cheese and the crab crusted grouper. Loved both. Great kids meals. Interesting key lime creme brulee. Highly enjoyable evening. GRADE: A

Day Three:

Brown Derby (Lunch): We always enjoy BD and this was no exception. Mom went with the cobb salad - never disappoints - and I had 2 great appetizers - the goat cheese and musroom tortelloni and the coconut shrimp. Had a lovely real glass of sauvignon blanc and a bottle of Pellegrino. Kids enjoyed their meals. Server Moses was knowledgeable and friendly, if a little slow to bring the check. GRADE: A-

Flying Fish (Dinner): We went and rode a surrey bike to try and work up an appetite for this ADR b/c we were still fairly stuffed from lunch. FF (as usual) did not disappoint. Server Bob was WONDERFUL. I ordered pear salad and the assorted cheese plate with chardonnay wine flight (being the reason i know the Chefs de france wine pour was 2 oz - it was exactly the same amount as each of my "sampler" wines!). Mom had the salad and bisque which she pronounced as fabulous. Kids love this place - Mickey pasta for one and grilled cheese for other with the "paint it yourself" white chocolate puzzle for dessert. Wish we'd been hungrier but service was perfect and food we ordered could not have been better....GRADE: A+

Day Four:

Our last day in parks - HM concert that night. Headed to AK.

Tusker House - This WAS our favorite CS. It is NOW our favorite place to eat at AK. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. It is like BOMA in the park. Great server (Rebecca) and plenty of choices. We were STUFFED. Definitely try it - we will be back. GRADE: A

Other than this, for breakfast we ate in POR food court every day and found plenty of choices. (Note to Disney for upteenth time: PLEASE GET SOME REAL COFFEE!). They had the chocolate croissants, however, which almost made me forgive the coffee:rolleyes: .

Hope this helps someone. Please let me know if I can answer any questions! We are already "plotting" the next trip ;) .

Pinocchio Haus is the restaurant at MK that you were trying to remember. :) :)

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for your reviews. I haven't been to Hollywood Brown Derby in a while and you've reminded me that I need to try and get back there. That Cobb Salad is always soooo good!

Flying Fish sounds wonderful, too. Glad to hear that your kids enjoyed it. I have a 3 year old so kid friendly info is always appreciated.

So glad you enjoyed FF, it's one of our faves. That surrey bike isn't as easy as it looks.;)

Thanks for the reviews. That settles it - we're going back to Flying Fish next time AND taking our daughter with us. It's a neat place.

Thanks for your kind words!

Pluto, Pinnochio..about the only similarity is the letter "P" - thanks for figuring that one out for me!!!! I am obviously still sleep deprived.:lmao:

The surrey bikes were a killer on the hills but it did make me feel a little better about the huge amounts of food I consumed!!!:upsidedow

FF is ALWAYS one of our faves...never have had a bad meal or service there. Love that you can get a "great" adult meal but it is so "kid friendly!" The best is also walking along the Boardwalk and watching the fabulous performers before and after. If you haven't tried it, it is a "must do!"
