We are planning a trip in June with 30 teenagers from a church youth group.
We are trying to decide on the best way to feed them. Does anyone know how the meal coupons work? Can we use them for counter service at DTD or just in the parks?
Because you have a large youth group going are they issued meal vouchers as part of the group reservation? It seems your question is about those and not the dining plan.
I didn't get all the details, but for our trip in March with our cheerleaders they were $15 for counter service meals. Entree, beverage, side dish and dessert.
We opted not to get them, because we don't usually eat desserts and I think we can eat for less than that - plus I'd rather have the option to eat at TS if I want.
No, meal coupons are not part of our reservation. All I know is the coupons are only good for CS but it does not give info about where. We will be spending one day at DTD and I want to know if they can be used there.
I am also interested in this information. I am going with a youth group next month and they also will be using meal tickets. I can't seem to find the "rules" or list of participating restaurants. If you happen to find out, please let me know! In the meantime, I will continue searching the boards and elsewhere.
I feel your pain. Why is so hard to find info for youth groups? There is information on everything else in the world. Not only can I not find info on meal coupons but I cant find any info on anything.
I was able to find the Disney site related to youth groups, but they only listed ticket pricing and accommodations information. It mentioned that meal tickets could be purchased, but did not even hint at how the meal tickets work. I find it hard to believe that these coupons could be used at any restaurant listed on the DDP list, but maybe I will be surprised!
I will be contacting the phone number listed on the youth group site sometime tomorrow. I will be sure to post if I find out anything new.
I actually have some of those coupons, they say Youth Market Luch/Dinner on the front. On the back they list the places they can be used. The two places in DTD are Earl of Sandwich and FoodQuest at Disney Quest. The are for one entree or combo meal, dessert and beverage (same as the meal plan).
So a list exists! Our group will only be going to the parks. Are there many restaurants listed for the parks on these tickets? If the list is short, could you send the list the places at MK, AK, Epcot, and HS?
What our band group is doing instead of giving the kids a meal ticket...they'll each get a $10 disney gift card per day. They can use it anywhere you can use a gift card, TS, CS, & I suppose the gift shops too if they decide not to eat They did the meal vouchers last time and the band director said the kids didn't get as much out of it - like they wanted just a hot dog at Casey's, and them a pretzel in germany or something like that.

Sure. They are printed on the back of the coupon. Here they are:
MK - Pinocchio Village Haus, Pecos Bill, Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station, Cosmic Ray's, Columia Harbour House, Casey's, The Lunching Pad, El Pirata Y el Perico.
AK - Flame Free, Pizzafari, Restaurantasauros.
Epcot - Liberty Inn, Electric Umbrella, Sunshine Seasons
HS - Studio Catering Co., ABC Commissary, Rosie's All American Cafe, Backlot Express, Toy Story Pizza, Catalina Eddie's

WE have used the meal coupons before when attending certain events.
They are great, you get a full meal, including beverage and we could use them at any counterservice on that day the event was being held. Obviously, we ate in the park that the event was being held at. They are very easy to use. I think they are a good idea for groups, because you can eat where you want, when you want, not stuck to cold buffet food or something you don't like when you are traveling with a large group or attending large group event.
