Woo hoo! We just got back from a much needed family trip to DLR. For the first time, we planned to stay at a Disney property. We chose PPH because of the FANTASTIC price on the Fall Special, and the minimal increase for conciere. When we got there, the front desk said, "If it's alright with you, we'd like to upgrade you to a Family Suite at no additional charge". 
Alright with us? HECK YEAH!!! 
Once we got to the room, we were blown away at the huge windows directly overlooking California Adventure! The room was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! 
Now, on to the concierge. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. While I'm very glad we got it, it would have been much better if they would rotate the offerings from day to day.
We were there four days, and having the exact same offering from breakfast to evening every day, got boring. The one thing that did change is the one hot appetizer each evening. We only were there for that one day, and it wasn't very good. Breakfasts were always the exact same thing, afternoon snacks exactly the same, and evening desserts were always the same. I just like a bit of variety!
Watching the fireworks from PPH was wonderful! They have a separate deck area next to the pool with outside heaters, tables and chairs. They pipe in the music, and you can sit and watch the whole show with no crowds! We were nice and warm and even brought hot chocolate to enjoy!
Although PPH is much smaller that DLH or GC, we very much enjoyed the 'intimacy' of it. Perhaps if we were going during warmer weather, or for a longer time, we would have enjoyed the other hotels more, for our trip, PPH was perfect!!
