Title sums it up.

I'm currently booked in cabin 7000 on my MDAS cruise. I've been toying with moving to the forward section (very forward) of Deck 2 (like from 2010 forward). It would save about $500ish.

I'm fine with OV rooms, so that's not in question. I don't get seasick and the motion doesn't bother me (actually for me the rockier the better).

Has anyone stayed in both the forward OV cabins on Deck 7 and Deck 2 and can compare? Or if you've stayed in the forward OV cabins on either deck, what were your pros and cons.

Solo adult who does not mind stairs.

Thanks!

Way stayed in room 7000 on the Magic for the WBTA a few years ago. We really liked the room. It is the last room in the hallway and must be next to the entrance of the officers quarters because we would see them go in and out of that door occasionally. I have considered deck 2 forward also but I have been hesitant because I am sensitive to noise. I tried staying Deck 2 aft on our very first cruise and there was a constant buzz from the vibration of the engine that I asked to be moved after the first night. We haven't had any problem with Deck 2 mid and I don't think forward would have that problem either. Though you may have noise from the anchor and thrusters? Hopefully someone else can speak to that. 9A is my favorite if I can't have a veranda because of the proximity to adult entertainment and the main decks but the value is questionable when it's still just a window and money can be saved by staying on Deck 2.

9 cruises on DCL and the only time I did not sleep well was the one time we booked deck 2. We were aft, but in front of the aft elevators. You will find many consider it their favorite deck, though!

I’ve sailed on the Magic in stateroom 2000 to Bermuda and a back to back 3& 4 night on the Wonder in stateroom 2004 without any unusual noise. I really liked 2004 as it seemed a bit larger of a room . It had a comfy leather chair in between the sofa and the bed.

Does this room have an upper berth? A friend is looking at joining our cruise so I would need it to sleep 4 vs the current reservation for 3.

If Disney is still using deck 2 as quarantine and upgrading guests who book those rooms, you may wind up back on a high deck for $500 cheaper! But would only do that if you aren’t too picky—who knows where you might end up.
