Hey! Nobody's posted a thread for this yet????
Hello All!
Welcome to this thread for November 2012!
We're all excited to be going back onto the Magic! We were on the Magic in Dec 2009 for our first Disney Cruise and met some really great people online and later on the ship!
We're ready to meet new friends and continue with all the Magic that Disney provides
We're a family of 5 in connecting staterooms. (booked onboard for the added discount and changed over to this cruise) Even managed to get the same staterooms we had on the last cruise! (Hmmm, wonder if it will look any different?)
Anyway, our group consists of:
DH (Me) - Barry - 47 by cruise date
DW-Christine - (A lady never tells her age but somewhat close to mine)
DS-Erik - 11
DD-Holly - 9
DS-Peter - 5
To any new posters on this thread, please remember that this is a public board, meaning ANYONE can read your posts whether they are cruising with us or not so I'd recommend no addresses, phone numbers etc. unless it's via PM to people you really trust.
Really looking forward to meeting everyone! We'll all be home just at the start of the Christmas Season so it's going to be great to get a pre-warming before a Canadian Winter eh?

P.S. Don't forget to mark this thread as a 'favorite' in your user CP. That way you're notified if there are any other comments from other fellow cruisers with either advice or questions that you can answer!:)

Hi!

We're on the November 10th sailing out of Galveston, too. This is our first Disney Cruise. We love to cruise, and have done so many times, and we love WDW, and go every year, usually more than once, but we've never done a Disney Cruise before. We've talked about it for years, but put it off because while DS (just turned 6) loves many things Disney, he actually doesn't like the characters up close. He'll put up with princesses, but he's never warmed to a certain mouse in larger than mouse size. Now that we have a second child in the family, we thought Disney was starting to look like a must do since their ships have a nursery and a baby/toddler splash area. We're from Houston, so when we found out they were going to try sailing out of Galveston, we booked the first day we could.

We're a party of 6 in one cabin. Me and DH (do I have to admit our ages? They're not too far from yours, Barry ;) ), my DM and DSF, and our two children. By the time we sail, DS will be 7 and DD will be almost 2.

There's a good chance some close family friends will be on the same sailing. One party would add my mother's BFF, her DD (my age), and her DGD (6) and DGS (I can't remember if he'll be 4 or 5 at time of sailing.) Another party would add my BFF and her DH and their 3 DSs (triplets!) who would be 3 by the sailing, and maybe her DM and DF. For some reason, none of them felt the need to book on the first day offered, a year and a half in advance... None of us have every done Disney cruises, so this will be something of a new experience.

I'm one of those people who is very conservative about posting personal info on open forums and happy to share via PM or email.

Welcome Golden Rose! Great to have you 'aboard'! It's going to be a fantastic cruise.
Your DS7 will be meeting DD9 in the Oceaneer's Club. They'll have a great time together. Our DS5 will also be there, but likely a bit too young for yours. We had our youngest along when he was 2.75 and he had a great time and, believe it or not, actually remembers some parts about the cruise!
If your DD is close to 3, as ours was, you may be able to get her into the Oceaneer's Club for at least a couple of hours so you and DH can have some private time as well. (My mom came in handy as well during that cruise for that purpose).
We'll talk to you soon!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

We are sailing out of Galveston on 11-10-2012. First cruise and of course it had to be Disney. Would love any tips for our family of three.

Welcome Teachermouse! DW was just asking this AM if there was any activity on this thread. I can now report back the affirmative! :)
Well, as for tips, I'd recommend surfing the Cruise Line posts on this forum. More questions may arise from those that we can answer specifically.
I just PM'd back and forth with a mom from our last Disney cruise from 1.5 years ago. You make friends both online and in person.
Maybe let us know a bit about yourself/family. Our youngest will be 5.5 by the cruise and oldest 11. Will that match your little one?
Since that was your first post, I believe you have to have 5, maybe 10 posts before you can PM (Private Message) any other members. I'd recommend doing a few posts around the board so that if you have a question to ask of anyone specific, but more private, you can do so.
Where is your family from?

We are from Texas, so thankfully it's a short drive to Galveston. We have one child. He'll be 11 at cruise time.

Well Teachermouse, Erik will be happy to show your fella the ropes of the Magic then. I'm not sure how independant your son is, but Erik will have sign-out priveledges and would be happy to have a friend his age along. (banana in place at Erik's request)

The Magic that is! Just sent an email to the travel agent to book our cruise. None of us has ever cruised before. Just can't pass up a chance to take a Disney cruise out of Texas!
We are dear hubby, myself and our grown son. DS may bring a friend, if we can talk her into it!
I'm sort of a vintage Disney fan, love the Princesses and all the Disney movies I enjoyed growing up. I always knew if I ever went on a cruise it would be a Disney cruise.
I bought some beautiful yarn yesterday to crochet some evening shawls for the semi and formal nights.
Can't wait to get to know all of you and hear your cruise plans,
God bless!

Welcome Trudy!
It will be awesome to get to know you during our cruise preps.
You'll love it!
On my BB right now so we'll chat later

Hello!
We will be booking onboard while on Dream on November 6. We is DH, me and DS 9 who will be 9 when we sail on this cruise. This one will be our 3rd - first on Wonder last September. Am I too early in mentioning I think we should have a Fish Extender exchange?! Hope everyone has a great day! :cheer2:

Welcome vmedisneymom! Welcome Aboard! Nice to have a couple of veteran cruisers along with us. Counting down the days here already and we have many other things to look forward to, including 2 Thanksgivings and Christmas!
FE's can be mentioned anytime, but I think 6 months prior to our cruise is likely good enough. DW's not a fan of them as the whole cruise is a good thing to give the kiddies already but I know it was popular on our last Magic cruise.
So, what's your names? Love to know more about the people we're cruising with, actually we'll be spending an entire week aboard on our cruise.

I have been inundated and decluttering the entire house! I am Michelle, Hubby is Stephen and Son is Hayden. We are from Oklahoma.

We just booked this cruise today. It will be myself (Ann), DH (Frank) and our 10 yr old (at time of sailing) daughter Maggie. We did the Dream October 9th and now want to try the smaller ship. We are looking forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome Ann, Frank and Maggie! Can't wait to meet you all in a little more than 1 year!
We've been on the Magic before and you'll love it! Our DD9 will likely get along famously with Maggie.
Talk soon!

Thanks Barry - looking forward to meeting everyone as well! Maggie will be excited. She had a great time making friends on the last cruise and I think having more time will only increase that. She has already told us she is planning on being in the pool and kids club the entire time :)

woo hoo - we are under a year. :woohoo: I don't know how people can book so far out. Well I do, but now sure i could handle it :)

Just back from the Dream and WDW - fantastic! Can't wait for this cruise - got it booked onboard so we are all set :lovestruc We definitely need to do a Fish Extender exchange! For those of you who haven't cruised w Disney yet it's like a secret santa - lots of fun and the kids love it! Hey who am I kidding - I love it too!!!

We're excited here too! Can't wait! I'm leaving on Tuesday for Cambodia and then Feb 1 for MK so we're a bit preoccupied with other trips to really focus on something more than 10 months away.
Looking forward to sunning ourselves on deck with DK's spend time in the camps.
RELAX TIME!!!:cool1:
