Disney Magic Kingdoms

Only one bandana left to get. Overnight drops were pretty good to me. Flick is at 6 (ready for 7), Atta is at 4 (ready for 5) and Heimlich is at 4 (ready for 5). Once I get Dot, I should be in a pretty good position for the rest of the event.

okay - not sure if it is just me, but my weekly tasks are TERRIBLE this week. I'm not going to waste gems to get rid of more than one, but if I were to do that, I'd have to get rid of like 4 to have a chance at finishing them all of this week. I've only NOT finished them all like two other times since I restarted.

On the upside, it was already apparent that I was not getting King Candy, so I suppose it isn't the worst time for this to happen.

I think you can re-draw weekly tasks for free now. Just tested and was able to re-draw 2-3 times for free before it stopped me from changing them.

Speaking of gems, I used some to finish off Dot to make sure I had enough time to do the tasks before the Hopper time wall ends. And of course I hit the "Welcome Hopper" today. Oh well.

I got mostly easy weeklies to complete. Will have several done today. I already have King Candy.

Last week I think I finished my Weeklies on Thursday morning, just before getting the next weeks lol, as they were all hard that week.

Good luck!

Having gotten King Candy, I am completely ignoring the weekly tasks.

I think only paying Kingdom Passers can re-draw more than one task. I just went in and tried it, and the second task would cost me 8 gems.

Yes, only free for Kingdom Passers - it was a change in the patch notes this last time. I am not a Kingdom Passer.

Is the whole DMK team in Canada? Anyone in their NYC offices?
Do we really think it takes more than 49 people to program this game? They are about out of movies. If I were to guess, they are going to have their Ukraine office keep it running as cheaply as possible for them to pull in a few more bucks. Doubt we will see much in the way of new content or events. Hope I am wrong.

These are just some of the movies they haven't tapped yet for content, going all the way back to the beginning, and just sticking to ones with parks representation (since this IS supposed to be a parks-based game, despite the idiotic presence of Ice Age):
- Fantasia
- Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad
- Swiss Family Robinson
- Mary Poppins
- Tron
- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
- A Goofy Movie
- Tarzan
- Dinosaur
- The Country Bears
- Cars
- Monsters University (other than the characters from the original movie, obviously)
- Incredibles 2 (ditto)
- Jungle Cruise
- Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (also, could extend this to the entire Disney Afternoon universe)
- Elemental
- Wish
- Inside Out 2

On top of that, they haven't even tapped the Marvel Cinematic Universe (thought I don't know if Gameloft's contracts allow for that -- though they do have Star Wars in the game).

So there's PLENTY of content to keep them going for years, without even accounting for expanding existing collections (they still owe us the second wave of Hocus Pocus) or new movies that will come out (Moana 2, Frozen 3, Toy Story 5, Cars 4, Monsters Retirement Home, Ralph Breaks AI, Inside Out 3, Frozen 4, Toy Story 6).

That said, the game is approaching it's 10th anniversary, which would certainly be an opportunity for Gameloft to sunset it if the company didn't believe it was bringing in enough money to maintain it.

I agree there is still more content to keep going. I have always wanted to see an electrical parade component myself. But I don't think that this mass layoff bodes well for the game. Of course, I do not know the business. Perhaps they have set up the template so well that they can have a smaller staff copy and paste events for a few more years hoping we won't notice much of a change.

I would imagine they'd use Fox and the Hound, Tarzan, or Great Mouse Detective before they resort to any of the recent live action films like Jungle Cruise, the more mundane Swiss Family Robinson, or the forgettable Dinosaur. Plus, even when the interns reach the point of being out of films to include, there are a TON of missing characters from each film. They have plenty of material with which to continue for quite a while, as long as the game keeps generating revenue.

It feels like they're releasing the roadmap for Season 9 early...but who knows if I'm right about that or not. I don't know what I was expecting for the Mega Event...but it wasn't this. Silly Symphonies wasn't even on my bingo card for potential inclusion.

Good timing, too. With the Tower Event's not dropping new characters, all I'll have to worry about until the Mini Event is the Season. We're moving in 2 weeks and that's going to suck a lot of gaming time, lol.

As for Hopper...5/18 and 5/11. With three days left, not worrying. At all.

Yes, this does seem early. Good to know who I should be upgrading for the Tower Challenge. Who will they add for Dalmations, I wonder? (Humans? The henchmen? More puppies? And who from Silly Symphony - one of the pigs? who else? (Sort of surprised here, seems like a lot of IP that would have generated more income.)

Hopper is slow go, in my Kingdom.

I'm guessing Roger, Anita, Jasper, Horace and Nanny for Dalmatians...I hope it's not more puppies. They're cute, but they all look the same to me.

I don't even know about Silly Symphony...it seems like an odd inclusion, but it's as Disney as Disney gets. People are going to complain because it's "obscure" but those shorts made the company what it is today.
