Hello all!

Just boarded the Disney Magic and she is definitely shining! The new carpet smell is wonderful and you can feel the bounce beneath your feet. Throughout the common areas of the ship, you can tell the major enhancements, sadly though, the finer details have been missed.

Currently, work is still being done on deck and all three pools are closed and scheduled to be open today sometime.

Staterooms... just the tv swap in my stateroom. Nothing else have been changed out or touched.

Well, I will post pictures later today (if I can figure out how to).

Kevin

Worn staterooms! I hate to hear that. :sad2: Please say it isn't so.

Thanks for reporting..I have been anxious to hear about the changes.....

Did they change the carpet in the staterooms????
I was noticing on our last cruise (March 08) that the carpet in our stateroom was looking pretty shabby...

Thanks for posting Kevin!!! I'm sure there are many on here that are dying to know and see the changes that have been made...I know I am!! Any reports you can give us will be greatly appreciated!!! Have a great cruise!!

Oh, BTW, where did they put the TV's in the staterooms? And, what did they do with the area where the little TV's were before?

Hmmm. Gotta say that we cruised in August and thought our stateroom was in BETTER shape than the one we had the previous november.

Wow, maybe Disney rushed her out of drydock. ...maybe she needs to go back to drydock ? :confused3

This is not good news:scared1: :scared1: We were on the magic last Thanksgiving and thought that the rooms were looking very worn:sad2: I hope they do a lot of work before our next trip in 2009 or I will be rethinking how I spend my $$

Woo hooo!!! Can't wait to hear more.

Worn staterooms don't bother me too much... I'm not in my SR except to sleep ;-)

the stateroom I stayed in on my cruise in July didn't seem worn, I know two monthes can change things, but if most of the staterooms were like the one I was in, shouldn't have to worry about it, besides only for sleeping I think I was in the stateroom to shower and sleeping at night

It's a shame that Disney has not done what Carnival is doing with their Fantasy class ships. I used to live in Tampa, the home port for the Inspiration. About a year and a half ago, or so, Carnival completely renovated all of the staterooms on this ship, new furniture, new TV's, etc. They also added a water park, mini golf course, etc. This ship would have only been about a year and a half older than the Magic when this was done, and I would assume the Magic will not enter dry dock again for another couple of years.

My guess is that the staterooms will not be updated until one of the new ships goes into service, and the Magic has an extended period (a month or so) in dry dock.

Thanks for keeping us updated !, but how dissapointing I cruised on the Magic in 2007 it was looking quite worn then and again in March 2008. I had a great vacation but the ship really showed signs of wear and I was looking forward to it being all new and sparkly for my 2009 cruise, when you pay that kind of money you really want everything to be as perfect as possible. The stateroom doors were quite worn looking as was the carpet and some of the tiles in the bathroom, but saying that I still cant wait to go again.

I am uploading pics right now to flicker and will post a link as soon as they are up.

Yes, it is disappointing for sure. If I were on the ship alone, I would disembark, that's how bad the cabin is. I have already told them they need to move me, however, they have so many rooms out of order still they have no where to move us to.

It is sad for sure. My first time on the Magic and I can assure you that I don't see myself coming back anytime. The Wonder is far cleaner and in much better condition.

That's actually kind of funny, you say all this I find The Magic cabins I've stayed in looked better then my cabin on The Wonder, not that it would stop me from going back on The Wonder, not that I plan on going on the Wonder anytime soon to short of a cruise it would be for me, love to long cruises:goodvibes

hope you have a great cruise, even if the cabin is very worn

Wow , I hope Disney does what they can for you especially by changing the saggy bed (if I dont sleep well it makes me cranky ). Hope you still have a fabulous vacation and thanks for taking the time out to post, cant wait to see pics.

Why are the rooms out of order???

SO, they didn't change the carpet is ANY of the staterooms, or is it still a work in process??? and only some of them had it done??
I was thinking for some reason that the staterooms where supposed to have the carpet changed?

Sorry for your disappointment..but I'm sure once you start your cruise, you will enjoy yourself:)
