Disney Magic Cruise - March 14, 2014

Hello All! This is our first Cruise and we are super excited! I would love to do the fish extenders! who else is doing it? and since this is our first time how exactly does this work? Cannot wait!

All of the above have emailed and I've added them to the spreadsheet we should all have a spreadsheet from 2/4 with the above 7 listed.

JLY did end up being on a different ship than ours so she isn't joining. So glad we clarified that.

There are three more interested that have posted here on the board. Jennifermturner is one. We welcomed her earlier this week. Since then BLL and jlindemer have posted. Welcome to both of you. We'd love for you to participate in the Fish Extender with us.

To join just email me at scrpbookr@yahoo.com. Let me know your cabin #, Names, gender, ages, interest, hobbies, special celebrations on the trip and allergies. I will add you to a spreadsheet we are compiling and re-email the group with it.

There are some questions on how it works. You'll hang pockets from the Fish hook outside your cabin door. Those in the group will come by during the trip and tuck goodies into your Fish Extender pockets. You'll do the same for the others in the group.

Some people do gifts for the individuals in the cabins. Other's do a family gift. You'll be able to deliver at your convenience during the cruise.

I had talked about adding to our spreadsheet who we'd deliver to on Saturday and then Sunday but I just read a Fish Extender forum that made me think adding too many rules to this may be burdensome. I didn't get a lot of feedback here but we will all be on vacation and perhaps the FE should not be too scheduled. If the majority disagrees I can add a schedule if not we'll just deliver as we have the extra bit of time during the cruise. The most important thing is that we all have fun with it.

To join the Fish Extender just email me at scrpbookr@yahoo.com. Let me know your cabin #, Names, gender, ages, interest, hobbies, special celebrations on the trip and allergies. I will add you to a spreadsheet we are compiling and re-email the group with it.

You can get a lot of ideas for the FE pockets and FE gifts online. There is a lot of info here on the DIS. Places like Pinterest, Etsy and Ebay are helpful if you search for Fish Extender, too.

Hi BLL - Thanks for the email. I sent a quick one back with a couple of questions.

Everyone watch for a spreadsheet later today with BLL and jennifermturner added.

I think with a short cruise like this making a trip to each stateroom once for deliveries is plenty. If someone has something they want to do a second deliver for they can, of course but nothing more than once is required.

Jlindemer plans to join too. We will get her added once she books/ emails. I think, from those who have posted here on the board, she's the only one we're waiting on.

Hello All -

Has everyone been able to view the spreadsheet okay? Heather mentioned that the images along the bottom were blocking the bottom listing for her. I just want to make sure everyone has a copy of the participants that they can work with.

Sue in Nova Scotia had a few suggestions that she emailed...

I'd vote for delivery pursuant to a schedule. Maybe half the group on one day and the other half the next. It's a short cruise. So to minimize people thinking they have to do both days or feeling like they have to-a schedule would help.


And we should have a closing date for joiners? Maybe two weeks prior to the cruise?

I can go either way on scheduling do we want to vote one way or the other and then go with the majority? I'd just add to the spreadsheet who we deliver to on Sat and then who we'd deliver to on Sun in order to keep the delivering and receiving somewhat balanced over the two days.

I do agree that we should close the exchange on February 28th so that everyone knows exactly what they are preparing for without last minute additions that we have to rush around to fill. How does everyone feel about that?

We're expecting another doozey of a snow storm later this week. Hopefully the day of hibernation will allow me some time to work some more on Fish Extender gifts.

We leave on March 11th in order to get a couple of park days in before the cruise so today marks 4 weeks exactly until we leave. Woo Hoo!

The fish extenders are going to be great and everyone will do this a little differently. That is the fun of it.

Is anyone doing an excursion in Nassau? We are going to blue lagoon for a beach day.

Our magic bands for the few WDW days before the cruise just arrived also. It makes it seem a lot closer! We're doing two more park days after the cruise which I think might come on separate magic bands but I'm not sure. I guess I'll know within a few days.

I'm happy to note you for delivering on the 15th. We also have a little something that is pirate night specific. I may deliver those on the 15th and then the rest of the goodies on Sunday. We'll see how the schedule fills up. Does anyone else have a day in mind? Perhaps we can have a recommended delivery day but leave room for some flexibility for those that prefer to feel less scheduled.

We've just had a couple more days of snow storms and we're all fighting colds. I've decided my pre-vacation diet/shape up consists of lack of appetite due to the cold and lots of snow shoveling workouts. I believe were expecting another 4 -6" of snow tomorrow. Our snow piles are already almost waist high around the drive and walks. Finding places to put all the snow is getting tricky. But, like I keep posting, it will make us appreciate the vacation all the more. With Monday's holiday the snow days did turn this into a five day weekend. You can't complain about that!

Hi all,
Is anyone doing an excursion in Nassau? We are going to blue lagoon for a beach day.

I think on our Nassau day we may stay on the ship. This is our first time to cruise with Disney and we want time to enjoy the ship. We've all done Nassau a few times in the past.

Last time my little guy and I were there was 2012 and we had a great Atlantis day. I highly recommend that excursion.

Hi....My husband and are a so ready for the cruise....we have two children and they would be excited but we haven't told them yet...LOL. It is a surprise I know it is getting close and I just found out that is how you get to be apart of the FE. Is there still time to join?

We'd be interested in joining this list too. It will be our second Disney cruise. DS is 11 and DD is 8. I completely understand that it's last minute and that it would be difficult for people to create stuff for us.

We are going to close to other new sign ups after these last two though to allow for all to complete what they need to before the travelling begins. Some are heading down in the days prior to the cruise for some Disney World fun, etc.

I am so bummed that we missed the cutoff, but understand. We just booked this cruise last night and very excited to try out the new Magic!
