Disney Magic Canada October 2, 2016

This will be our 4th or 5th time on the Magic. We have another cruise tentatively scheduled for Feb 2016, but we are thinking of changing the date

Update...this cruise will now be officially our 4th time on the Magic. Just moved our February 2016 cruise on the Magic (Bahamas) to the January 2016 on the Wonder (Southern Caribbean). DW has an important meeting in Jan/Feb, so we were waiting for the actual date to be selected before either keeping or moving our Magic cruise. That said, we've wanted to sail on the Wonder since we experienced the Magic, so we'll finally have sailed on all 4 DCL ships.

This will make 9 ( we have 2 others) But most excited about this one because no flying and dif itin. then we usually sail!

This will make our 7th Disney cruise, but 13th cruise overall.

We've flown to all but one of our cruises, and that was out of Baltimore. We plan to drive to NYC as well. For us it's about the same amount of time driving as it would be to fly after taking into account the time to get the airport, process through, fly and then get into the city. More importantly, it's considerably less expensive to drive than fly or take the train.

yeah this will be 9th Disney but cant count how many over all.. The best thing is getting int he car after and driving home . door to door about 45 min. Cant beat that! The whole flying process. Cant say ill miss that.. LOL

Hello everyone! We are joining this cruise. It will be our 6th Disney Cruise and 2nd on the Magic. There will be three of us; Me, Andy, my DW, ToniAnn and our almost 11 year old (by a week and 1/2) DD, Elizabeth.

Curious how you feel about DCL's new alcohol policy. Are you OK with it, or is it enough to cause you to cancel your cruise reservation?

From DCL Website:

Effective for cruises embarking on or after September 30, 2015, Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port-of-call.

Guests wishing to consume wine or champagne that they have brought on board in one of the dining rooms will be charged a corking fee of $25.00 per bottle. Please note:
    • These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.
    • Any alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and stored until the end of the cruise.
    • Any wine or champagne in excess of 2 bottles or beer in excess of 6 beers will be stored until the end of the cruise.
    • Bringing liquors and spirits (including powdered alcohol) on board is prohibited. These items will be stored until the end of the cruise.
    • Guest MUST retrieve any stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Items not retrieved will be destroyed, and no compensation will be offered.
    • Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.
Please note that the Disney Cruise Line alcohol policy is subject to change without notice.
While I can't say I'm happy about it, the new policy actually has very little impact on us. We usually take 4 bottles of wine onboard with us and that typically is enough for in room consumption over a 7 day cruise. We sometimes a pint bottle of rum for DW, and once or twice a small one of Scotch for me, but it looks like we'll now have more room in our luggage.

I'm not really a drinker, so it doesn't exactly affect us. More room in the luggage sounds good, though!

We always have late seating so often, as we're cleaning up for dinner, we'll have a glass of wine, or sometimes two. I also like to enjoy a cocktail on the veranda in the afternoon while reading or watching passengers return from their day ashore, but in March, I made fresh ice tea at the drink station and that kept me from visiting the bars during the day.

Personally does not effect me.. not a drinker and kind of sick of seeing it posted everywhere.. Its like having items left at guest services that theyve taken away.. when all the blogs and social media sites post all the secrets... they're not secrets anymore :)

:wave:Hello, all! We'll be a multi generational trip. Me, my parents, DH, and our two children (DD will be 17, DS 15)
It will be our third DCL trip, first on the Magic and my parents first DCL trip. I've been waiting a couple of years for a sailing out of NYC since my parents won't fly.
I was out voted for this itinerary. Family is tired of Nassau. I am too, but I prefer the sun and sand. I wouldn't do this trip if it wasn't Disney. :earboy2:
I am looking forward to sailing on a classic. She sure is pretty! I'll have to find non laying in the sun activities to do. :coffee: :drinking1 :banana:popcorn::
Hopefully a lot of Halloween things!
In the meantime. We're headed to Disneyland on Sunday!! Hopefully time will fly after that and it will be time for our awesome cruise!

Hello! We just booked our cruise. There were some problems booking on the ship, but DH just got a call and we are confirmed. Hope tp stay in NYC the night before and then a few days after.

:cool1: When I booked the cruise I was assigned a GTY. I made a request for my preferred location but of course DCL makes no guarantee.

On my return home from Aulani, I had my cabin assignment and it was exactly where I wanted to be.
We are on GTY also. This will be our 2nd time on the Magic! The cruise will either be out 5th or 6th cruise, it just depends on what happens inbetween now and then. First time on the Magic was the next to last cruise before all the changes. Looking forward to seeing it again.
