Disney Magic Canada October 2, 2016

We are on GTY also. This will be our 2nd time on the Magic! The cruise will either be out 5th or 6th cruise, it just depends on what happens inbetween now and then. First time on the Magic was the next to last cruise before all the changes. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Welcome!

Our first cruise was on the Magic and she is still our favorite. We sailed on her a third time in the Med last year, after the changes. She still had much the same feel, despite the recent changes for which I was very glad. The new ships are nice enough but I prefer the Magic.

I can't believe I didn't look for the thread for this cruise before! We booked on opening day. So exciting to sail right out of NYC (home for us).

I had been hoping this would be a Halloween on the High Seas cruise, but just saw the official dates for 2015, and this year, Magic doesn't go "Halloween" until October 14th. Hmmm. We might just miss it!

Was wondering if anyone had heard anything about the possibility of our cruise being changed from the Magid to the Wonder. I've heard throught the grapevine that the Wonder may go to Cadiz next summer for its drydock.

Latest I saw was the Wonder is scheduled for her required 5th-year drydock and inspection in Sept 2016 and that she'd probably be reimagineered to be more like the Magic. Her first post-drydock cruise will be in November. The DCL website has the Wonder completely blocked out for the months of Sept and Oct which would seem to confirm she'll be out of service.

This is a 5-night cruise so I assume we do not have a formal night, but that we will have an optional dress-up night. Am I thinking correctly about this?

I have an ulterior motive for asking. I usually wear a tux on formal and semi-formal nights on the weeklong cruises, as we like to get dressed up, but I have an agreement with her that I can wear a kilt when we visit a Commonwealth country except for the Bahamas. Last time I got to do this was to Bermuda so I want to be sure there is at least 1 night on this cruise that will justify me bringing my kilt and all it's assorted bling along.

From the Disney Cruiseline Castaway Club Magazine: 2015 Dates for Halloween at Sea

About this hauntingly Happy Halloween time sensation.

Disney Fantasy 9/5–10/31
Disney Dream 9/7–10/30
Disney Wonder 10/1–10/23
Disney Magic 10/4–10/28

Since it is October 4th of this year I would suspect that it would be October 2, 2016. Here's hoping.

Might have been a mistype by someone. First Halloween Cruise on the Magic for 2015 is October 4th.

Glad to have found this link. This will be cruise #5 for us- party of 2. Will be completing goal of cruising on all 4 ships as of Jan.4 thus need to start over again. This had been "wish" cruise since 2012- missed last Canadian one- been waiting patiently. Live in PA and are thrilled that flights will not be needed. Scored cabin first day offered. Looking to join FE group. Also hoping this is a Halloween cruise-enjoyed 2014 Magic Halloween cruise from PR.
