I have just joined the FB group and was told to post here as well. We just booked our cruise and can not wait. I know this is short notice but being a Military family sometimes it is what we have to do :) This will be our second cruise this year with Disney. We love everything Disney we were just at the parks in July.

This cruise we will be celebrating our kids birthdays our ds will be 11 on Nov. 2 and dtwins will be 8 Dec. 8. They have given up their parties and presents for the cruise!!! For the cruise we did in January I did the fish extender but did not know you needed to join a group to be involved. This time I know and I am hoping to make the kids birthdays a little brighter. I have already started looking at ideas on our part I just need to know what to do. Our extender is only geared to the kids I will reuse the one I made in January.

I hope we are not to late.

Hello! I've recently been added to the Facebook group page, so I figured why not join here too. This will be my first cruise as well as my honeymoon. I'm so excited! I also am trying to soak up as much info as I can for a first time cruiser. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

That is so exciting!!!! Congrats!!! :cool1: Welcome and thanks for posting here too. There are some of us that do not use Facebook so we really appreciate those who do come back to the DISboards to post!! There is not much discussion here though so I am assuming most on Facebook. I would say read the cruise forum as much as you can for tips. It is a very valuable source of information for first time cruisers. This will be our 9th Disney cruise, 5th on the Magic so I will be happy to try and answer any questions or point you in the right direction.

Thanks Carol. I am assuming we can use the Mickey and Minnie lists, the kids are having a blast making gifts, they are just a guide so we have an idea of who is out there correct?

Signed up for the Cabin Crawl also. This seems like a lot of fun and informational. We were debating on getting 2 connecting rooms or the family suite. Will be great to see if the 2 connecting rooms is better.

The Mickey and Minnie list are closed so technically you can only join in with people on the Chip and Dale list. However, I would think that some people, like me, would send extra FE gifts your way even if not on that list especially for a military family!!!! :thumbsup2 But hopefully more people join in the C and D list too. If not, we and our friends traveling with us will sign up on there as well.

Kate (Lifeafterkids on DIS boards) is organizing all that for us so perhaps she can share additional info on those.

The family suite is great but yes, if you could get two connecting rooms that is nice too because of getting two split bathrooms, more privacy, etc. Depends if you would give up verandah though because that is wonderful!

I have a question. I am sharing a cabin with my parents and my son who will be 2 in December. It only allows for two adults, can I put the other adult in the additional guests? We will all participate as a family, but was hoping to add them as adults rather than give their age as additional guests.

Thank you,

Stacy

Hi Kasey,

Where are you stationed in Virginia? I'm in the Army stationed at Fort Eustis and live in Williamsburg. Love that we will be on the same cruise. My sister and husband are DA Civilians (former Army) who work for the government near Fort Belvoir.

Are you Navy? Air Force? Marine? Or Army?

Look forward to meeting you on the cruise.

At the Pentagon right now but transferring in a couple weeks to Norfolk.

Maybe you could just write their name under additional guests and put Adult in parentheses instead of listing their age?

That is why we stuck with it for this cruise. Didn't want to give up the morning coffee on the verandah until we knew what other rooms looked like.

Oh i see ehat you meant, i thought you were still debating for this cruise. Good choice! Nothing beats a verandah if you can get one!

Thank you, I put my dad in the additional people and he won't care if I put his age.

Hi gang, We just booked this cruise today! YAY! So excited. It will be myself (Susan), DH James, DS Jameson (7) and my Mom - Carole. I haven't had a chance to read through all the post yet but this will be my Mom's 2nd DCL cruise, my hubby's 5th and number 6 for my son and I. We are from California and have one booked for Oct. 2015 to Mexico but of course we couldn't wait that long to cruise again so we booked this one. I just signed up for the C&D FE list. We love doing FE's! I'm way more active on FB so I just requested to join the page. Can't wait to chat with everyone :wave2:

Hi Kasey!!!

Sorry for being MIA, but i was on vacation last week!! getting back into the swing of things today and trying to catch up on things!! Of course this is the first thing i wanted to catch up on!!!!

So, The mickey and minnie lists are full and closed. The group decided that no other families should be added to those lists. I am sorry!!! It does seem that we are getting families to join the Chip & Dale list fast and furious though. I hope that it should be a pretty full list by the time the cruise rolls around.

I am so excited that we have gotten some new families!!!! Please feel free to add any excursions or meet up suggestions you have as well!!!!

Please note Mickey FE Listers!!!! I uploaded a new list a few seconds ago that added a child. Please make sure to download the new list!!! It has also been updated on the Facebook group too!!!!!

I heard back from DCL regarding a private meet up on the boat. I think our options will be a private mixology or chocolate tasting. It would be an at sea day and you would have to sign up before we leave. The charge would be automatically charged to your room after the event. The charge would be same price that a mixology or chocolate tasting would normally cost (i think $15 a person). If you sign up and don't go, you will be charged. We would have up to 30 days to make the reservation (this date is coming up fast)!!!!

What does the group think about this??? Do you have any other suggestions for a meet up or something else you would rather do (in lieu of a mixology class)?????

I hope to have additional information later this week on the date and time and which option we will have.
