I heard back from DCL regarding a private meet up on the boat. I think our options will be a private mixology or chocolate tasting. It would be an at sea day and you would have to sign up before we leave. The charge would be automatically charged to your room after the event. The charge would be same price that a mixology or chocolate tasting would normally cost (i think $15 a person). If you sign up and don't go, you will be charged. We would have up to 30 days to make the reservation (this date is coming up fast)!!!!

What does the group think about this??? Do you have any other suggestions for a meet up or something else you would rather do (in lieu of a mixology class)?????

I hope to have additional information later this week on the date and time and which option we will have.

Thanks for letting us know and all your organizing. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of these, including the chocolate tasting, that is not paired with alcohol- I wish they would offer something like that. We will pass on these but thanks anyway!!

Here is the information on the private event.

We can request either a private mixology class or a chocolate tasting. Both events require a minimum of 25 Guests to maximum of 40 Guests per class, ($15.00 – mixology, $30.00 - chocolate tasting). Each participant will be charged the fee whether they show-up or not. I will need names with stateroom numbers or reservation numbers no later than 10/3/14.

As of right now, I have requested 11/4/14 from 2 to 4PM for this time slot. It is not guaranteed, but DCL will be able to confirm before we get on the ship. Please let me know what you think. If there is enough interest in both events, I will gladly set up both. I put a sticky up at the top for a poll to see which option works. Please vote and then we can work on collecting information.

I also posted the event in the meet up document so we can make sure we have at least 25 people signed up.

I know some have expressed concern about these two events containing alcohol. I have a question into our event planner to see if we can plan something that does not involve drinking as a back up plan :thumbsup2

ALso, I was thinking that maybe we should move our 1st meet up on 11/2/14 to the lobby and have the picture taken then?? Anyone object????

To all the new members (we have had a lot in the last few weeks) - please look at the meet up document for some of the things we have planned to do on this cruise :) Please add your name to anything you would like to join us in or throw out a suggestion for something fun to do!

So I combined the photo and the first meet up into one on 11/2/14. Does anyone have any preference to before or after the sail away party? It will be in the lobby of the ship. My thoughts are either 3PM or 5PM. I don't think this will be a very long meet up! Sail away Party starts at 4:15 and goes to 5ish according to DCL's website. Let me know what you think

Myself and husband celebrating 10 years and DD 7 and DS 5 from Illinois.

Thanks so much!

Welcome!!!! :cool1: Disney cruises are fantastic!! This will be our 9th Disney cruise and still found nothing better! We are DVC owners so spend a lot of vacations at the parks but there is something really special about a Disney cruise!

Do scan and search the DIS cruise forum including the stickies at the first page. There are lots of tips and tricks you will find. One important one to start is to be sure you complete your online documents right away to get your port arrival time unless you are taking Disney transfers as those would be set pickup time.

Just ask away any questions you might come up with and I am sure someone will know the answer or at least direct you where to look.

Thanks, Carol! =)

One question please....

I keep going back and forth between Main and 2nd Dinner seatings. I would really like to do the 2nd seating as we will have time for night swimming and not be rushed to get to dinner but the time change hits the day we board so I am concerned the extra hour will seem so late with the sun setting before 6pm. With a 5 and 7 year old, am I better with Main seating because of the time change?

I would look at how early they are use to eating and settling in for night. We have sailed with our grandkids and always do late seating. We just like more time to get cleaned up and naps after port or pool days. Then if not one of the 'major' shows, the kids can just continue napping for a while. We have not sailed on a time change week though so not sure how that would affect them.

I am surprised they still have main dining available. You usually can always get late so you might want to grab main while you are trying to decide if it is still available.

Yes, I changed it to Main Seating for that very reason! I was super surprised that they still had availability. It would be easier if I did not have a choice..lol

Thank you!!!!!

So we had two families drop from the Chip & Dale list :( If you know those two families, can you let me know if they are still sailing with us? I have personalized FE gifts that can not be changed. I would like to know if they are still sailing so I can still deliver the gifts to their staterooms at least!!!

Also, for all the newcomers, please consider joining the FE list!!!! It would be great to add some other families to the list so it is not so empty!!! That goes for anyone signed up on the other lists!!! Come join the fun on the C&D list!!!

Thirdly, make sure to sign up for the meet ups in the document. Especially the 2 events we are trying to set up through DCL. If we don't have 25 people, we can't do them!!!

And remember 8 weeks from today, we will be docked at Key West!!!!

Hi everyone,

We just booked this cruise today - totally last minute but that is how we travel and I could not pass up the IGT/OGT/VGT room rates :)

We are from Canada (Ontario) and will be a ladies cruise for myself (Heather)and my DD (Sydney - age 8). This is our second Disney cruise (we did Alaska last summer).

Sadly, while DH loved Alaska, he was not as thrilled with the DCL experience (in his words.."too much Disney for me"), so DD and I will go it alone!

Still thinking on whether to join FE...we did not do it for Alaska as I felt that cruise planning for Alaska was already overwhelming, but it looks like fun so I am tempted to try to participate.

I will request addition to the facebook group as well.

TTFN!

So we are getting closer!!! YEAH!!!!

Some concern has been expressed over the last FE list staying open until 10/24/14. It has been decided to close that list on 10/15/14. After that no families will be allowed to join.

My thought is that we won't have too many more join at that point, but if for some reason we do, we will create a list that we can "pixie dust" any extra items you many have if you want. Does that sound okay??

So to all the new people that have joined us in the last week (and there are quite a few!!!!) please sign up ASAP for the FE list if you want (there are only 9 spots out of 20 taken on that list currently!) and please look at the meet up document for joining in the fun!!!

We are really close to the required 25 people for the Private DCL functions (mixology and chocolate tasting), so if you have not signed up yet on the meet up document for them, please do so! I will be contacting you to get stateroom information to pass onto DCL for billing purposes!!! If we don't get a few more people to join us, then we can't not reserve this as a private function!!! So please consider doing it with us!!! It will be loads of fun :)

Lastly, it has been brought to my attention that there is an "adult" activity talking place every night in Fathoms at 10PM or 10:30PM. It includes team scavenger hunt, trivia and other games. How would you feel about adding this time every night to the list of meet ups? I think that it would be great if some of us formed teams.... Not sure what y'all think about that idea???

I am getting so excited to meet everyone and enjoy this cruise!!! 10/31/14 can't get here fast enough :)

Getting married in 50 days and setting sail on my 1st cruise for my honeymoon in 51 days!!! I'm soooo excited!!!

First time cruiser would like to signup for FE, Magic 2130. Mov 2, 2014

Hi!!! We would love to have you on the Chip & Dale list for the FE!!! Can you go to the first post of this thread and click on the google document link to sign up? That way you can enter all the information the group will need?

If you need help, please let me know!!! So excited to have you join us :)

Don't forget to check out the meet ups too :)

Sounds like fun, we'll participate in the Scavenger Hunt/Trivia a few nights if we're not completely wiped out after our excursions! I added my room number for the Mixology class.:)

We just booked this week after getting the DVC offer in the mail over the weekend. We were looking to book Spring Break, but this was such a great deal - couldn't pass it up!! Luckily, my boss is a big Disney fan, so she approved my leave!! This will be our 4th Disney cruise. We have done 3, 5, and 7 night (Eastern) so far. So excited for 7 night Western! DD will be barely 8 and almost 11 when we sail. We have joined the FB page for this cruise, but haven't had the chance to sign up for anything. Can't wait!!:)
