on the transfer of my reservation. I had made two bookings for the POR, one precruise and one postcruise. Due to the fact we were not able to get free flights with our airmiles (another post I made) we had to cancel our postcruise ressie. I asked Disney to transfer my deposit to my first reservation as I didn't want to lose out on my exchange (I had booked high, and the rates have now dropped).
I hadn't received any notification so I called to check that the deposit had transferred but they had lost the transaction. They told me they would call me back by the end of the week when they found out where the money had gone. (I still haven't heard back and its been 4 days.)
However, I checked my unposted transactions on my credit card, and the deposit had been returned. I lost about $25 on this process, and then I'll probably lose more when I have to pay for the room in April.
I'm peeved that they hadn't tranferred the deposit when I specifically asked them to, and they said they did, they haven't called me to explain what happened, and that I lost money on the whole process and spent 1 hour on hold.
I know its not a big amount, but should I call them and tell them I've found the money on my credit card? (that in itself is a mystery, as they don't have my current credit card number, and the money was refunded back to my old card which has been cancelled. Mastercard must have honored it and posted it to my new card. Weird!) Or should I just wait for them to call me and tell me what happened?
My husband says I've wasted enough time and money on this already and that I should wait for them to call me. I feel guilty that they still may be searching for my money, but then, hey, it was their fault in the first place!
Any thoughts?
