We are in desperate need of good luggage, but if I'm going to spend the money on it why not do Disney!?! :rolleyes1

I've been searching online :surfweb: and have found a few but am curious what others have found!!

Thanks for any input you may have. :thumbsup2

I looked at some at the World of Disney on our last trip and I didn't think the ones I looked at were very sturdy looking.

I was thinking of buying one to haul all of my souveniers home instead of using the shipping home option at the stores. But I decided against it and used the ship home option instead.

I bought some a few years ago from disneystore.com. Never again- it did NOT hold up. But again, several years ago ( 5 maybe?)

I did just buy a lesportsac small world duffle and love it.

Disney luggage is cute, but don't expect it to last long. The way luggage gets handled by the airlines it really takes a beating.

I don't know if you have to be a AAA member to purchase from them, but I found this a while ago. I don't know how well it stands up to airline abuse, and because it's hard-sided it may dent, but I've been eyeing it for a while because it's made by Heys and, even better, its on sale http://midatlantic.aaa.com/Shop By ...s Embossed Faces 26in - Donald Duck Grey.aspx

There is also a smaller matching Mickey suitcase (http://midatlantic.aaa.com/Shop By ... Embossed Faces 22in - Mickey Mouse Grey.aspx) but it isn't on sale.

Considering the quality issues, you might consider getting plain solid color luggage and using a means of decorating them. Based on your comfort and skill, stenciling or appliqués could be an option. It would also be a fun project if children are involved and would allow personalization as well as a way to get ready and share the planning excitement as a family.

Be careful with the Heys Disney luggage!!! The reason that they are at Burlington, TJ Max and Marshals is that the large suitcase it oversized according to the airline standards and no one wants to buy them and pay the extra baggage fees. You will have to pay the normal checked baggage fee and then you will have to pay the oversized fee and because its oversized its probably over weight as well so there is another fee will have to pay. So you could be looking at paying 2 additional fees. Not to mention you have to pay these fees for your out bound flight and your return flight for that cute piece of Disney luggage.

So if you want to buy Disney luggage be sure to check the measurements!!

I know not too long ago there was a thread on here about that luggage and one lady paid hefty fee's for her luggage. I think it was the black and white Mickey luggage.

I've seen all three sizes at our TJMaxx. You are right the largest is too big for a checked bag. However, the middle size would be all right for a checked and the smallest would work for a carry on. I saw them one day at TJMaxx for like $69.00 and $79.00 respectively. Even though I don't need luggage I really wished I'd picked them up. When I went back, only the largest one was left.

We've had 2 different sets of Disney luggage and neither held up. In fact we got the 2nd set for free after complaining about the first set! At least they tried to make it right and we appreciated the great customer service but geesh!

Zipper problems on both sets and we only use our luggage one or twice a year tops. As others have said, the airlines are so hard on luggage and both sets were banged up but we expected that. The zippers breaking after using twice - no.

I only fly a few times a year, and my expensive Samsonite luggage is all but destroyed. It gets so beaten up by the airlines that we can't even get one of the suitcases open, and the other won't roll anymore. These are hard sided suitcases with latches.

So, this time I think I am buying something cheap with a zipper. I like having something hard sided for breakable souvenirs, but I still have one. I borrowed a cheap big suitcase my Mom bought at Marshall's and it faired better than my pieces. I think I am going to buy something similar, and if it gets screwed up, c'est la vie.

When my dd gets older and starts getting her own seat, I will get her a little rolling Disney suitcase. I think they are cute, but not worth the money for the quality, I am afraid.
