Disney lovers make the switch!

"Tell them about all the live music and special concerts at Studios during Mardi Gras weekends and at the Summer Concerts. Explain that the things they may hate, like swarms of strollers and crying babies stay away from Universal and go to Disney World. And all the stuff the previous posters said."

I wrote the above a few weeks ago in response to a question about how to convince someone to go to Universal. It's nice to see other people have noticed the same thing about strollers and children.

Yes, we are Disney lovers, and Yes, we need a break..a switch,..a change...

We finally made the decision to try Universal! So, our Disney AP's ran out, headed to US/IOA for the first time this past weekend.. We loved it!

It was a very pleasant surprise! True, US and Disney are very different, we enjoyed all of the differences. Us is a much easier pace...from the parking lots to the turnstiles, its less hectic.

We loved the rides...RRR, the Mummy, Harry Potter, Spiderman....we were impressed with all of them.

The food options are great, and the prices are lower too!

In short, we are glad to be part of the "dark side" !!

Congratulations on discovering the "dark side". Next time you need to go all in and stay onsite! I suggest RPR. It's our favorite.

I agree with many of the disney comments. I still love the disney theme, amd many rides...nobody does theming better than disney....

however, we have grown weary of the rat-race of pushy people. We found the crowd at US to much more relaxed.....way less strollers, and very few ecv's

We would love to stay on site.....but when i just stayed at the 4 points sheraton for $40 a night on priceline..........................

Or like almost getting in a fight in the lineup to Small world when a South American tour group had one person hold a place in line ahead of us then 12 more joined them who were just "going to the bathroom"? - while the staff looked on

i am laughing hard because that sounds like my recent Disney experiences, I prefer the workers at universal because as a few will say this isn't Disney. I am pretty sure that means they aren't scared of guest.

universal employees dont put up with the nonsense..I had witnessed 2 different incidents at Universal last Jan..One the Universal TM was loading Spiderman and trying to get 2 more people in the car from the standby line( all of them were chanting and yelling and not paying attention)- the TM screamed at the top of his lungs that they needed to shut up and pay attention or NONE of them would ride.He dispatched the car, only to have 2 of them in the car try to climb out so they could ride with other people..The TM true to his word yanked them all off the line.
I also was waiting for Hulk when I saw a Huge group of them push and shove their way up the line to meet the guide at the front..The TM made them ALL get off and get back on line from the beginning.I was stunned since whenever I have encountered that behavior at Disney, the Disney Cms tell you there is nothing they can do about it

I've been doing a Disney/Universal vacation for the past few years. 4 days at Disney and 3 days at Universal. Works out perfectly. We always do Universal second because staying onsite, we become spoiled by the express rider privileges. If we did Universal first we'd be shocked by the long waits on Disney rides! We can do both parks in a day and have time to spare becuase there rarely is any wait for a ride. Last summer, our favorite, the Mummy, we would go on three times in a row because there was never a line for it in the express lane. And even though Harry Potter doesn't have Express privileges, staying onsite we get in an hour early so that whole area is done before the general public comes through. Though Disney will always be my number one favorite, I have yet to experience any ride there like Spiderman or The Forbidden Journey. I'm happy to be part of the Dark Side!
