Disney loses lawsuit..

Why is Eisner's picture with the story. Did he spill the coffee?

He does look sad. 668k isn't all that much to Disney but still it hurts to lose.

IMO it is a copycat for the McDonalds lawsuit...

Think Breakfastosaurus...... :)

:bounce:

Hate to say it but that photo of Eisner looks like he's thinking,
"Dang!! There goes another one of my bonuses!!"

I prefer Darn it, Why couldn't it have been me!

Hey Ohanafamily!! You all need to write captions for the news or some magazines!!

Didn't you read the BTMRR thread? There are NO accidents. Eisner has coffee on his hands.

I do agree this is a copy cat of the McDonald's. no one should deserve that much money buy any means. that is outrageous:mad:

I don't see this as a copy of the McDonalds suit per se... In the McDonald's suit the lady spilled the coffee on herself by squeezing the cup of hot coffee between her thighs.. Really not too bright. This man had a pot of hot coffee dumped on him by someone who was carrying it in a way they shouldn't have been. I am not a fan of big lawsuits, but based on what I have read he probably deserved something.. It sounds like he was burned in a pretty sensitive area, pretty badly.. I don't know if he deserves 600K, but he was injured..

sgtdisney, my response was actually meant to be a little tongue-in-cheek; I do not think it is the same. Having said that, burning genitals could be serious, especially if they are trying to have children...

I was trying to comment that there is a huge Mcdonalds in AK by the Dinosaur ride.....

Here is another thread below on this subject

For any one who wants to know the facts of the McD lawsuit check out

this link from Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers

and if you still think that people don't deserve to be compensated for thier pain and suffering remember that the awards are made by people like you and me who are called to jury duty

Hell, if some schmuck blistered my equipment with a hot beverage, I'd sue for way more than that.

If the injuries and after effects that were stated in the newspaper article are correct, I don't think that's a very big settlement at all.. Heck - people break a leg and get more than that!

I also see this as being totally different than the McDonald's case.. Spilling a cup of hot coffee on yourself is one thing - having someone spill a whole pot of it on you because they aren't performing their job correctly is an entirely different situation..

Wanna take bets on whether that waiter/waitress still has a job at Disney??????????????????????

To be honest that amount is chump change when compared to multi-million $ verdicts...

He deserves every penny.

What would you do in this situation, turn down the settlement and say, "hey, way too much money, just give me half and a couple AP's and I'm happy"

Or...

ThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyou..............

You're kidding........right??

Well, yes and no. For those who feel the settlement was unjustified, I'd like to know what they would do if this had happened to them.

First of all, it wasn't a settlement, they had to go to trial, it's a jury award. Second, I don't think I'd be saying "thankyouthankyouthankyou" if I was the plaintiff.
