Here are a couple that happened to us recently. Other contributions welcome!
-- A new Wendy's restaurant recently opened 1/2 mile from our home. We went over to break it in, and guess who came to our table to say hi! That's right, Wendy herself!! They had someone dressed up in the complete outfit, right down to the bright red Raggedy-Ann style wig.
I really wish I could have pulled out an autograph book and a digital camera and put the poor girl through the whole character-greeting routine! But we were not prepared, so we just said hi and yes we are enjoying our meal. An opportunity missed.
-- On our summer trip to Chicago, we visited the Sears Tower Skydeck. Whoever designed that place must have had Living Seas in mind, but this place is even worse! After entering, we took an elevator down to ticket sales. (I think the elevator actually did go down a floor, rather than just 6 inches.) First we had to go through a security queue, then another queue to actually purchase the tickets. Once we had our tickets, we entered a small theatre where we were shown a short film (about 5 minutes) concerning the Chicago and the Sears Tower. (still sound familiar?) Exiting the theatre, we followed a long winding hallway with many wall displays concerning the Chicago and the Sears Tower, finally reaching yet another queue for the elevators that would take us up to the Skydeck. The Skydeck was very enjoyable, but it must have taken us 30-40 minutes to get to it. And it really wasn't that crowded. I'd hate to go there on a busy day....
