Hi:

Recently Hubby damaged our Disney license plate along with the car and we cannot salvage the plate (car was totaled). Do any of you kind people know where we can purchase a new DVC plate? :sunny:

Sorry to read about the damage to your plate, and the car too. Hope DH is okay. You can find these often on ebay, in fact I think there is one or more up for bid now. Just search the terms disney vacation club.

We bought one at one of the DVC resorts (I wish I could remember which one, I am thinking Vero Beach, but I am not sure). They didn't have them when we joined, but a couple of trips ago we found one.

DVC should make them easy to get, they can be marketing tools. I was at Walgreens the other day and someone saw my plate and asked me if I would answer some questions about DVC because she was thinking of buying but didn't know anyone else who was a member. We talked for a while and I gave her the web address of this board!

All the DVC resort gift shops carry them. (I know that SSR had them) Call them directly and you can purchase over the phone and they will mail you one. They are only $6 (plastic not metal). Just don't overpay for one on EBay if you go that route. If they can't sell you the plate directly, ask them for the item # and then call Disney Merchandising (sorry I don't have the #, they can give it to you) and order it over the phone.

Since you live in SC, are your near HH? You could try going over there to their store and buying it.

DJ... is this a DVC cover for your plate? I would like to get one of those for my van. We just had our plates personalized for DVC and it think that would be cool to have also.

No, it was an actual plate for the front of the car. In Indiana you don't have to have two plates. We should get custom plates for our cars, I never remember our numbers.

Rats.... that what I thought :(.

In OH we have to have both front and back plates... but now with my DVC plates I actually don't mind :)

I'm leaving 3 weeks from today...If you don't find one, let me know, I will pick you one up.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Hubby is fine and looking forward to our next trip in May. I think that I will contact HH and see if they have any of the metal plates left. Last year they had some for $8. I like the OKW ones as they are very colorful but I do not own there and would like to advertise Boardwalk instead. Does anyone know if Boardwalk has their own?
