Disney letting the owners rent out thier points

Has anyone heard what Wyndham is doing? I am not sure of all of the particulars, but if an owner rents out their points, there is an additional charge added to the reservation, which the owner pays and I guess ultimately passes it on to the renter. I am not sure of the price, but I think it was around $95.

What if DVC decided to tack on a fee for every reservation that members made for people other than themselves? Wyndham did that, can DVC do it also? Would that be a good thing?

I don't think that thy can do that. We have a contract with DVD that allows and disallows certain things. I don't think that assessing surcharges for renting points is allowed (and please don't make me pull out my contract). They aren't allowed to unilaterally change the contract.
Members here sometimes forget that our DVC membership isn't like making a hotel reservation, It's a long-term real-estate contract with different laws and terms than those of typical hotel guests.

What lease? You own the membership, you don't lease it. I would have asked to speak to a surpervisor because it's apparent that whomever you spoke to wasn't clear on the rules.

yes and no. DVC is a lease hold property. That means we own it now but it reverts back at some point. So technically the CM was not really incorrect.
