Wow, this sounds very cool!

I hate to ask a silly question, but what's Walt's Barn? And what's the monorail barn? Hmmm......I suppose I will go check out your posted link to see more info. Cool! :cool1:

Before Disneyland was built, Walt had a fairly good sized model railroad around the grounds at his home. (He had about five acres) His workshop on the property was built to look like a barn.

Walt's railroad was known as the Carolwood-Pacific. Years later, the Carolwood-Pacific Society was founded to help preserve the memory of Walt's railroading. Michael Broggie, who will be on the trip helped out as a child at Walt's house with the railroad, and is a principle in the Society.

Several years ago, it was found out that the barn at Walt's property had fallen into disarray and would probably be torn down. The Society moved the barn to Griffith Park in LA and rebuilt it and it is now open to the public for viewing. It contains many of the artifacts that Walt had in it when he used it to run the train around his property.

Huell Howser did a California's Gold segment on Michael and the Barn a while back. You can see a clip of it on the www.legendscruise.net website.

The monorail barn is simply the place where the monorails are taken for repair and servicing. Bob Gurr has pull, so he can get us in to it!! :yay:

Thanks for the question!
