Disney Lanyards from Dollarama?

Are they anywhere near the "real thing"? Would they work for pin trading?

They are shorter and tend to be narrower than the lanyards you'll see around the park. I can't see why they would not work, guess it depends on how many pins you plan on toting around

Only thing to consider if you are using the Dollarama lanyards for kiddos... they do not have the safety velcro release. Basically, the park and other generic lanyards I've seen all tend to offer a velcro closure at the botton. This way, if the lanyard gets caught up on something - it would release from the pressure/pull. No strangulation... Hope that makes sense!

Thanks so much-I was thinking about that last night- that I would make them take it off an put in fanny pack at each ride in case they would get caught- to me the velcro would be well worth the extra money- Thanks so much for your reply Jen

DH just pointed out if you are handy, it might be worth modifying and adding velcro yourself? However, they are still a lot more narrow - so if for adults, you might want the wider ones they sell at the parks.

I bought a couple Disney lanyards from Dollarama before my trip and then decided not to use them. The Dollarama ones are alot more narrow and flimsy compared to the ones they sell at WDW. I would think they might not lay as nice when loaded up with pins.

Lanyards at Disney are only about $7.

I bought several Dollarama Disney lanyards for my keys at work. S

My kids could never keep them around their neck so the Dollarama ones were fine for us. They would pull them out of my backpack to trade or for pictures while we were there but hated them on their necks. Now that we are home they all have them hanging in their rooms and sometimes play with them but still never around their necks.
