If we don't book it with a agent or costco and do the tickets and hotel separate do we have to buy it? If so, where? Does it come with the tickets? Sorry, I'm new at this!!

If you didn't book a package and bought your tickets separately then you won't be receiving any lanyards. If you want you can buy them at any pin trading location, or pretty much any store for that matter!

You can buy lanyards all over the place. Ebay, amazon, hotel gift shops......... Just do a search for "disney lanyard" or "disney passholder".

Just be cautious, because that's the number one way people lose their tickets/APs - the lanyard flies off during a ride or gets caught on something, and the chances of getting it back are slim.

I agree with KBelle5. For our first trip to DL last year, when we went to exchange our voucher for our tickets, we were very excited to put them in our laynards and where them proudly but the CM working the ticket booth suggested that we not wear them as they could easily get lost or hooked on something and torn off. So I carried all of ours and put them in my backpack, took them out when I need them. Have fun!!

My oldest and youngest daughter (12 & 7) went on California Screamin' during one of our trips last year. They both took their lanyards off and put them in the seat-back pocket in front of them. When the ride was over, they forgot to get them out. When they realized what happened they ran back to get them. My oldest daughters was still in the seat-back pocket, my youngest daughters was gone.

Along with our AP, we had ID cards for each of our girls in the lanyard pouch. We got a call from lost and found saying someone turned in our daughters pass, room key, etc. When we went to pick it up, we were handed an envelope with the room key, her ID, and her AP. Whoever found it ditched these items and took off with her Tinkerbell lanyard and ~$100 worth of Tinkerbell pins.

It was sad that it happened. Now I'm looking through some of our trip photos to see if I can figure out which pins she had. Her birthday is coming up and I would like to surprise her with a replacement lanyard and all of her Tinkerbell pins (they were her favorite, she picked them all out herself).

I always keep everyone's AP in my purse, unless we split up. But I've seen them at many of the stores in DLR- some sold alone and others with pin sets.
I never wear a lanyard at DLR because the last thing I want is something pulling on my neck all day.
That being said, I need a new lanyard for my work (and of course, it has to be Disney). Does anyone know if a child's size lanyard would fit a 5'3" adult? I'm wondering if the adult lanyard would hang too low on me. Has anyone tried on the child's size? If I recall, they are all bundled up so I'm not sure I can try it on at the store.

In Disneyland, CA and Downtown Disney there are many stores that have lots of variety for lanyards to choose from. Tink, Pirates, Buzz, lots of themed ones. some starter lanyards with pins etc. They are fun to look at e=and have everyone choose their own design.

I don't think the adult one would be too low on you. Also, there are lots of adult lanyards that aren't folded up so you could try one on and see but i think it would be fine. A kid's lanyard might be too small i think.

I ordered a child size for my 5yo from the Disney Store online. It is perfect for her and would be way too short for you.

My adult lanyard is actually pretty long by the time you hook on whatever it is you want on it. I teach kindergarten and it is always hanging down in the way. I would like a smaller one.

See, that's what I was thinking. I'm a preschool teacher and I need to hook on 4 keys and a whistle. If it gets too low it drives me crazy. Ok, I just measured my current lanyard (a Disney princess one just made from ribbon that I picked up for 99 cents at a party store) and it is 17 inches from the neck not including the little hook on the end. It is just the right size for me but I wanted a more durable one.

I'm 5'4" and a child's lanyard won't fit on me.....too small.

I wear my AP in my lanyard pouch every trip...never once had any issues with it flying off, breaking off or anything else. When I go on rides the lanyards come off and go in my sling bag. The girls take theirs off too and put them in their park bags.

Hmm... I suppose if I'm not able to try them on, I better go with the adult just to be on the safe side. :confused3

If the adult one is too long for you maybe you can either tie a knot in it or pin it to make it shorter.

Yeah, that might work. Online it says they hang 26 inches which is 9 inches longer than the one I have now. Guess I'll wait and see.

The pin and lanyard we got last year when we booked our package is pretty plain. It's blue and says Walt Disney Travel Company. There are much cuter ones in the stores at DTD.

I wear a lanyard at work every day and I have to tie a knot in my WDW one. It's a bit too long.
