I live in Texas...today a fellow Texan told my Disney has bought property here to build. This has been rumered about here for YEARS!!! SInce I was a teenager. I was told that it would be in Orenge County right by where I live...I blew it off after 15 years of hearing this...well today a man told me it is happening now in New Kaney Texas...not sure on the spelling. Just wanting to know...because that would be my dreams coming true!!! However I think it is just a rumer.

It's been a rumor on the boards here for years as well. Disney has offices in may places, they now have built Hotels in many places, so even IF Disney bought land doesn't mean it will be another theme park

My cousin is a land dealer around that area. He did mention it back in June when I saw him. He said it had been discussed for years but he had never heard anything for sure. He did say it was rumored that it was around the New Caney area. Not too far off 59.

This one comes and goes alot and it's a Rumor for sure.

As such, we'll be moving this one over to the Rumors and News Board.

The only confirmed Disney land purchase that I've heard of (outside of Florida or California) in the 12 months ... is in Hawaii for what will likely become a DVC resort.

Here's June 2007 news about plans for a theme park in the New Caney area:

The local chamber of commerce is tracking progress:

This is not a Disney park, although some articles have called it Disney-like or Epcot-like. This may be where the confusion originated.

The rumor I always heard was that Disney had bought land in New Waverly, which is north of Conroe on I45, there is a lot of growth in all that area supposedly preparing for Disney Park. But it is a rumor that has been going around for years. Who knows?? It would be a drean come true!!

Any chance of a cruise going to Hawaii?

Misty:

Hard to say at this point -- but given the additional boats on order for DCL - some of which have already been designated for west coast ports in North America -- it does seem within the realm of possibility.
