Disney Keeping MagicBands Safe?

What the Disney phone person told you is nonsense. There is no such thing as having the shipping company hold something for 'safe keeping'. I find that some of the people you can get on the phone from Disney are very helpful/knowledgeable and make an effort to look into the questions you ask. Others seem lazy or poorly trained and make ZERO effort to look into issues. Rather then do some research, they just seem to make up random/wild guesses and know you have no way to ever get them back on the phone so it becomes like a game to them. I would call back and get someone else on the phone who knows what they are talking about or try the online chat feature.

Is picking up your bands at the front desk an option?

I thought this was about a security issue with MBs.
Good to know Disney is keeping them safe .

They're not keeping it safe...it's probably to do with the cheapie shipping rates they have contracted. There is a thing with a company I used to use to print stuff...the shipping option they choose to use pretty much just throws everything into a bin and when that bin gets full, THEN the shipper picks it up. Somewhere down the line it gets handed over to USPS but they've lost some stuff for a couple weeks just to have it show up. It's probably sitting in some distribution warehouse up there.

I feel like mine looked like they didn't budge for a week and then somehow showed up on my front door randomly.

I'd have a better chance of success and will only cost me a 2 hour hold time. Are these common issues?

When using a third-party shipping co. that then transfers items to USPS, yes, this is common. I really think your MBs will show up in time for your trip. I wouldn't waste time waiting on hold with Disney.

USPS and OSM can’t locate it. Waited 2.25 hours to talk to Magic Band people who said to call ShopDisney. They said it was order online via magic experience app so call Magic Band people.

Magic Band ppl said the can’t cancel the order Anton order a new one because an order exists. They said to print out the order and bring it to the hotel front desk when I arrive with my two young kids at 8pm

F Disney. You and I are all suckers.

That’s why I claim to be a FDBeliever …. Bet it will still randomly show up on your doorstep.
Hope so anyway. Keep us posted if it does arrive magically.

Call your local post office. They might have some insight on OSM. They may just show up. They might have been scanned out when they were put in some kind of container
The container might not go out until its full or some excessively long period of time.

Free shipping in this case means Disney found a shipper who will ship for almost free.
It could be lost. Can you submit a claim?

USPS is horrid and can’t do a wait and see. Need to cancel and reorder but Disney won’t

I suspect it may turn out like my Williams Sonoma order in the early months of the pandemic.

It appeared to be stuck in a regional postal center for over a week and then said delivered when it wasn't.

Called WS for a refund--and a week later got the order.

We still live in crazy times.

Have you filled out a USPS Help Request, and if it has been seven days since that, have you submitted a Missing Mail Search Request as outlined here - https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm ? I've had to do this twice, but it has been a couple of years since I did, although both times I finally received the items. Given that you still have six weeks until your trip, if the USPS can't find it or truly doesn't have the package yet, I again contact Disney with that info to show them there's a problem.

OSM is not to most expeditious when it comes to getting MagicBands to your local USPS location for final delivery. We live an hour from Davenport FL and it still takes a week or two for MagicBands to reach us after they are shipped. They sit in Austell GA before being sent back to FL.
This happened a couple years ago. We live in Davenport, FL. Our Magicbands were shipped from Davenport, traveled up and down the east coast until finally ending up back in Davenport a couple weeks later. Those Magicbands did more traveling than I did!

Your BS meter is spot on.

I've seen a lot more delays from the USPS in the past couple years. My last MagicBand order (a year ago) took almost two weeks to get from Florida to me in western PA. The first 3 days it was in the hands of a shipping partner, then once USPS got it, it took 1 day to get from central PA to western PA, and then 8 more days to actually get delivered to me.

Except this has nothing to do with USPS. It's a "shipping partner" called OSM worldwide that has possession of the bands.

Possibly, but it also could have just missed USPS scanning. Both times this has happened to me (when tracking shows as "awaiting item" for multiple weeks) I was able to fill out a Missing Mail Search Request, and the mail was found soon thereafter.
