Disney Junior ??

For all you moms out there who have figured this out--There is not a new channel on Monday, right? Just Playhouse Disney rebranded as Disney Junior for now?

Is a new channel coming? Why did I think there was going to be a new channel on Monday?

Seems to be a newe name with new shows- on my guide it starts here anyway at like 3 am with Little Einsteins (say bye bye soon ) then Handy Manny, Oso I think is still there but maybe just short "lessons" in between shows, then there is jake and the Neverland Pirates, a Babar show (?) and one I can't rememeber exactly Tiga tales? Imagination Movers I think is on 1 time later in the morning.

Because there is going to be a new channel, just not right yet -- at least that was the original plan. The original announcement last May said that they would initially re-brand Playhouse Disney, and then in 2012 when the current syndication contracts for SoapNet run out, ABC plans to replace SoapNet with an expanded 24/7 preschool-programming-only channel. The idea is to compete directly with Nick Jr.

Playhouse Disney is becoming Disney Junior. I just looked it up on the Disney website and there are a few new shows like Jake and the Never Land Pirates (8:30am) , Babar and the Adventures of Badou (10am) and Tinga Tinga Tales (11am). I also noticed that they are going to be having Mousercise as some of those little 5 minute things in between shows. I used to love that when I was younger! It will be neat once it gets to be a whole channel of its own.

Yep, I heard that too. Although I do wonder why they don't keep the Playhouse Disney name for the new channel, as well.

That's what I thought but I went to check the program guide to set the DVR and it's still showing the old shows. Maybe it's a Dish Network problem. We have 2 Disney Channels.

I thought I had originally heard that the Soap Network was going away and it was going to become the Disney Playhouse/Junior channel.

Oh how I wish they would bring back My Friends Tigger and Pooh.

I too would like Tigger and Pooh to return, it aired before my kids were even awake. And why Playhouse Disney was airing at 4am is beyond me . I too heard that Soapnet was going away, but couldn't remember when.

Oh well. I wonder what they will do with the Playhouse Disney Attraction now.
