Has anyone else experienced this?
I spoke to my sister the other day and told her I'd booked to go to Disney this year, her response was "if you like it that much you should just go and live out there." I found this quite upsetting (this is only my second WDW trip after all, 3rd Disney trip) but after thinking over it and talking to her since, I'm getting the impression it may be a case of Disney jealousy.
My sister went out there for the first time last year with my mum, her partner and their then almost 2yr old and they loved every minute of it. It was the first trip to WDW and America for all of them. Unfortunately, despite the fact that she and her partner earn more than me (as I'm unemployed), they've made some bad money decisions in the past and now really struggle, (I was in the pub with her, her daughter and my mum last week, she couldn't afford £3 for a kids meal, my mum paid.) The only reason they went to WDW last year is that mum paid for about 90% of the trip for all 3 of them.
I really want to say something to her as she wastes money all the time. If they want to go to the cinema, they drive a 2hr round trip to drop their kid off with one of her grandmas, then they drive another 2hr round trip to pick her up, this happens about twice a week. They're also forever spending money on things like concert tickets, then moaning that they can't afford the petrol to visit me (I don't live much further on than my mum who she's forever visiting.) I just worry that if I say anything it's going to turn an already shaky relationship totally sour
Mainly I just wish she'd get off my back about me spending money on holidays and stuff I want.
Sorry for the rant!
