Disney jacks up parking prices.

When I was at Seaworld in June the parking was $12. Did they raise their prices too?

Parking at SeaWorld San Diego is still $12 for passenger cars.

We go down to Disneyland about every other year and we have only paid for parking like twice. The trick is to buy donuts for your family before you go and teh give the attendant all the leftovers and they will let you in for free. Now you are paying for the donuts but that is still cheaper than the parking fee and you got breakfast out fo it.

It seems to go up every year now. I just paid $15 to park at the Miley Cyrus concert here so $14 for a DL day is not really out of line.

It is now 79 dollars to add parking to your pass. But still a bargain as after 5 visits it has just about paid for itself. We visit weekly so I feel like we're getting a great deal.

I agree that disney is still a fairly cheap place to visit considering all you are able to enjoy with just one flat admittance fee. We paid more for our NASCAR tickets than 1 day at DL. Once a one day ticket hits 100 bucks and parking is 25 dollars, then I may change my mind. Of course it'll be a few years and prices for everything will rise as well.

I was hoping that it might become a bit more cost effective to add parking, but according to the article, it will now be $79 to add parking to an AP. I’m pretty sure it was only $60 before? I suppose it all depends on how many times in the year you plan to go. And someone mentioned staying at hotels and avoiding the parking fee… I’ve stayed at 4 hotels in the area, and 2 of them charged approximately $10 a night to park there. One was far enough away that we bought $3 ART passes anyway, so there was really no savings there. Just be aware of that, I suppose.

We have also discovered the loopholes of the DTD parking area. We’re “locals” but live at least an hour away, so it’s more cost effective for us to plan a whole day at the parks instead of coming for just a few hours, but we do it occasionally, because we love to eat at Rainforest Café. One night, we were expecting to have to pay since we stayed about 6-7 hours or so, but they had NO parking attendants at all! Everyone just drove on out without having to pay. I don’t know if that was a fluke or more common than not.

As for parking “loop holes”… we noticed an ART bus station right outside a Carrow’s (don’t know where it was, but close to the park but too far to walk). There was plenty of parking in that lot, since it was a multi-store area. ART day passes are (or were) $3 for adults, I think less for kids. We noticed it, but haven’t actually used it as a money saver, but you could if you were really needed to.

What I find most curious is that so many people here are defending the parking increase. Usually you see more people complaining about than support. Just an observation.

...Compare that to some other forms of entertainment:

Snow ski - $70-80 (for 7 hours)
Rockies tickets - $25 for cheap seats (3 hours)
Broncos tickets - $80+ for cheap seats if you can even get them (3 hours)
Brad Paisley Concert in Denver last month - $80 (3 hours)

Plus higher prices keep out the hoodlums. Disney prices are very competitive IMO.

I do the same thing as HydroGuy. I compare how much I am spending at Disney with how much I spend to do other forms of entertainment. Once compared you are definitely getting a great deal at Disney, even with the increased cost.
